Our values underpin our beliefs as a school and are essential in establishing a strong whole school ethos. We recognise that our values are the link between deeds and actions; they help define our culture; unite our school community collectively; drive our ethical values and provide a moral compass for everyone.
All pupils and staff are inspired to ‘Respect the CTA Way’, which represents how we work together to ignite the aspiration of all members of our school community. We strive for everyone to be tenacious and achieve more than they ever thought possible.
Our values are centred around equipping both pupils and staff with essential social skills and tools. We believe that respect should be intrinsic in society, serving as the foundation for positive relationships and the development of social and cultural capital. It is essential for fostering a harmonious and inclusive learning environment.
We expect all pupils at Chase Terrace Academy to demonstrate respect towards adults and their decisions. This includes valuing and appreciating the experience and wisdom that adults bring, as well as trusting their judgement in creating a conducive learning atmosphere.
We promote our belief that respect must be earned, never demanded. We encourage a healthy, active and proactive lifestyle to learn self-respect: helping us all to work through challenges, build resilience and maintain our emotional health. We encourage self-discipline and recognise that respect for effort brings rewards.
At Chase Terrace Academy we recognise that knowledge is power; community is strength, and a positive attitude is everything! Being part of our engaging community gives everyone a sense of belonging. Our community promotes support to others, enables us to share personal connections and perpetual growth of each other and ourselves.
We go beyond immediate and basic needs at Chase Terrace Academy. In the classroom, we create a sense of coming together with the common goal of learning and achieving. Outside of the classroom, we create unique opportunities for everyone to learn from each other and give support and encouragement. We champion that to share, is to contribute to the community’s greater worth, promoting that we are all part of something greater than ourselves.
Pupils are tenacious at Chase Terrace Academy, and we promote that the willpower to work hard, even when things are tough, is an incredibly important value in school life and the wider world. We believe that pupils should understand that to be tenacious, means to build resilience and determination to succeed in the future.
Pupils are mentored about the positive mindset and skills they need to look beyond short-term concerns and to focus on longer-term goals. Tenacity is the ability to withstand challenges and setbacks with perseverance. We model this daily at Chase Terrace Academy with our continual dedication to go beyond what is convenient whilst we strive to exceed. We are positive and do what it takes to complete our work: we never give up; we know success comes from failure, we learn from our mistakes and we celebrate effort.
We are relentless in our hopes and ambition for all pupils at Chase Terrace Academy. At this very important stage of their education journey, pupils are regularly encouraged to ‘dream big, set goals and take action’ to help them succeed in their long-term future. Whether that is becoming a car mechanic or an astronaut, a nurse or a musician, a teacher or a builder, we are passionate about raising the aspiration of all pupils within our school community.
We have an inclusive ethos and recognise that all of our young adults have talent and unlimited potential! Tomorrow depends on what we do today. Our main motivation is to support pupils to have faith and belief in themselves and to work to show the world what they are made of!
