The Learning Resource Centre (LRC) is right at the centre of the school and provides a really aspirational and comfortable environment in which students can do independent work. There are two members of staff based in the LRC, Mrs Bynt and Mrs Dutton. Students are able to use the computers and tablets which are available, do homework or just sit and read and be assured that there is always a member of staff on hand if they need help or advice. There is a large selection of fiction and non-fiction books as well as a graphic novel section and a large Accelerated Reader section.
From English lessons to independent learning to reading and homework, the LRC is used for many various activities including:
● English reading lessons
● Displaying students work
● Laptops and computers available for homework and research
● Scholastic Book Fairs
Our opening times are as follows:
- Monday to Thursday: 8am-4pm
- Friday: 8am – 4.30pm

Library Reading Challenge 2021
We have set a series of reading challenges (see below image) for students to complete. Students can complete as many or as few as they wish. However, the more you complete and send to email@example.com, the more chances you have to win one of 3 £10 Amazon Vouchers. Each completed challenge is one entry into the draw (4 challenges completed = 4 entries into draw etc.).
The competition opens Monday 8th February and will run for the 3 school weeks leading up to World Book Day, which is when the winners will be announced.
