Our curriculum provides a rich and varied learning experience that enables students to achieve their best while developing the character and resilience needed for future study and employment. In Years 7 – 9, students study a broad range of subjects including English, Maths, Science, History, Geography, French, German, Computer Science/ICT, Design and Technology, Arts, PE, RE, Music and Drama. This breadth helps them build strong foundations and a love of learning as they move into Key Stage 4 and 5.
In Years 10 – 11, students continue with core subjects alongside a wide choice of academic and vocational options. Most students study a language and a humanity at GCSE to strengthen their qualifications for the next stage of education.

High expectations underpin everything at Chase Terrace Academy. We want all students to achieve excellent outcomes, recognising that some may need additional support along the way. Our aim is for every young person to be the best they can be each day.
Specialist teachers in every subject use a range of effective strategies to support student progress. All lessons follow our ‘Know, Do, Review’ cycle, ensuring a consistent and high‑quality learning experience.
Progress is supported through regular assessments used both to check learning and to teach essential skills such as revision, extended writing, resilience and reflection. The independent study habits developed at Key Stage 3 prepare students for success at Key Stages 4 and 5. From the start of their time with us, students are aware that we want the very best for them. They are given minimum expected grades in each of their subjects – these are aspirational indicators of the minimum level that they should be working at and are based on prior attainment and entry assessments. We expect all of our students to be working at this level and, eventually, exceed it.

Our subject specialists are well equipped to support students during exam preparation, with several staff members also working as exam board markers. This expertise helps students receive clear guidance and expectations. We recognise that examinations can be challenging, so we provide firm support throughout the process. When students experience setbacks, they receive additional guidance through our intervention programme to help restore confidence and motivation.
