Our Year 11 pupils have recently completed a ‘Required Practical’ using microscopes, developing their skills and understanding in defining key terms such as resolution and magnification.
Pupils prepared and viewed onion cells under the microscope following their preparation with iodine, enhancing their comprehension of cellular structures and functions. They also engaged in discussions comparing their observations with the capabilities of electron microscopes, broadening their understanding of microscopy techniques.
As we continue to empower our pupils with hands-on experiences and critical thinking skills, we encourage them to stay focused and determined in their preparation for the upcoming GCSE Examinations.
For more information and valuable resources to aid in exam preparation, don’t forget to check out the link to the revision section on our school website here. Furthermore, knowledge organisers and curriculum overviews are also available for all subjects on our curriculum page, under ‘school life’ to give a comprehensive overview of all topics being covered.
