Today, we’re celebrating some of our fantastic Year 7 sporting superstars!

Ben was nominated for an outstanding cricket season with Lichfield Cricket Club. He won his team’s bowling award after taking 13 league wickets, the second-highest total in the league, at an impressive average of 9.85. What a fantastic achievement!

Jenson was nominated for his commitment and success in football, playing for Chasetown Stags, who currently sit top of their league this season! Away from the football pitch, Jenson also enjoys mountain biking, demonstrating his enthusiasm for sport and keeping active.

Isabelle was nominated for her excellent efforts in cross country. This week, she represented the school brilliantly, finishing third overall in the competition and becoming the first Year 7 student across the finish line. We wish Isabelle the very best of luck as she competes in the Sutton Cross Country Race this weekend!

Angus was nominated for his incredible resilience and determination. After suffering a serious arm fracture while bike racing and undergoing surgery earlier this year, he worked hard through a long recovery to return to both swimming and downhill mountain bike racing. Since then, he has won the Rippers category at a regional race, achieved county swim times in butterfly, freestyle and breaststroke, and even secured sponsorship for his downhill racing. With ambitions to compete nationally next year and one day race in the World Downhill Series, Angus is a fantastic example of perseverance and aspiration.

We are incredibly proud of Ben, Jenson, Isabelle and Angus for their dedication, determination and success both in and out of school. Their achievements are a wonderful example of the talent and ambition within our Year 7 cohort.
