We in the PE Department hope that everybody is OK during this strange time of Lockdown and managing as best as you can to stay happy and healthy.
We want to encourage everybody to be as active as possible while staying safe and abiding by the lockdown restrictions. It is really important that you are keeping physically active during this Lockdown as 30 minutes of exercise every day will really help your physical and emotional health.
We have circulated a PowerPoint via SMHW which has lots of ideas of different physical activities you could try at home as well as creative activities to have a go at, new skills to learn or improve on and recommendations for sporting books to read and TV/movies to watch. You could even try one of the PE challenges! You must always warm up, wear suitable clothing, make sure the area around you is safe and stay hydrated. We expect you to be doing an activity every day that you have a PE lesson but know that many of you are doing and will do a lot more.
The PE dept are choosing weekly challenges for students and staff. This week 25th – 31st January is the ‘Step Up challenge’ click here to see how to join in (and have a laugh at staff).
We will also be running a number of extracurricular activities this week, 25th – 31st January.
It would be great if as many people as possible join us. Details of activities are also on our PE dept Twitter account.
If you take part in any of the activities it would be great if you could share a picture(s) with the PE department, which we could then share with the rest of the school community via social media (school web site, PE dept Twitter, school face book, school My Edd app, Show My Homework). You could have chosen to do anything from the huge number of things on the PowerPoint or it could be anything else that you enjoy.
Pictured below are some of our PE staff taking part in live PE lessons, just one of the many ways to stay active.
Stay Happy and Healthy (and active).

Another Busy Week
As numerous staff at Chase Terrace Academy continue to come into school to complete much of their teaching and supporting of key worker students, we have been so grateful with their ongoing contributions to our foodbank too.
Thank you to our Chase Terrace community for taking time out of the day to drop donations into the entrance of our main reception. Many of you do this completely anonymously. These deliveries are really welcome and the families receiving the parcels that we put together are extremely grateful.
The foodbank team have now developed a good routine: collecting, packaging and delivering food. Our main distribution day is Friday with Ann dropping off sometime in the morning. That said, if there is any family who needs a helping hand at any other point in the week we will always find the time to make up a parcel. There is generally a spare one placed in reception so that we can accommodate you immediately if required.
We do need to keep our supplies full and therefore appreciate anything that you can spare. We have highlighted below where our stocks need replenishing if you are wanting to provide something specific.
We are in need of the following basic items:
As always your support on social media has been invaluable. Please continue to back the initiative in the ways that you know how. We remain in this together and would like to thank you all for your help so far.
It is most important that those families who are need contact the school. We have a good selection of items and your calls are confidential.
If you require a parcel please contact us on:
