Foodbank Update – Week 3
Chase Terrace and the Burntwood community continue to pull together.
Food items, toiletries and cleaning products have continued to flood in this week. You have thought of everything!!! We have even received a small contribution of dog food, so if you have an animal and need some support please let us know so that we can get it to you. We do have a few baby product items too and would like to send these to a good home.
We received some fresh food which we were able to add to our parcels at the end of last week. It was lovely to hear from one parent that this was very, very much appreciated. Thank you to the Tonks family for sewing and selling masks and using the proceeds to buy fresh produce which was delivered to us this Thursday morning. The fruit and salad are an amazing addition to the parcels that we will be delivering.
We would like to mention and thank Tesco in Rugeley. Dave Burton the store manager, who has a daughter in Year 7 contacted us and delivered a significant food parcel on Tuesday evening with his daughter Savanah. Thank you.
We would also like to thank, a past pupil and store manager, Tracey Greatreax from The Coop Swan Island who contacted the school on Wednesday to offer support with food donations and essentials which we collected on Thursday morning.
Achievement for All students and students from our sixth form have packed and created parcels throughout the week. This week we will be sending out approximately twenty food packages to local families, which is double that of the previous seven days.
Looking at our shelves we would like to send out a plea for the following items:
- UHT milk
- Tea/ coffee/ squash
- Toilet rolls
- Tinned meat/ fish/protein
- Wraps/pitta breads/ part baked rolls
- Crisps
- Fresh fruit and vegetables (on Thursdays only)
- Household cleaning products.
We would like to thank everyone for the pasta donations. We now have enough pasta to last us until Christmas, although probably not enough sauces!
Thank you so much. Donations will continue to be received every morning of the week by the Dining Room entrance. They are becoming so important on the run up to Christmas.
It is most important that those families who are in need contact the school. We have a good selection of items and your calls will always be confidential.

Christmas present donation appeal.
This week we would like to launch an appeal for Christmas presents. Our intention would be to collect presents for students between the ages of 5 and 16. We would wrap these and ensure that they all go to good homes. If you have anything that you can donate please ask your child to bring it to the Dining Hall, which is where we are also collecting food.
We ask that:
- The present has not been used before.
- Packaging is undamaged.
- Our students are happy to wrap all donated items.

Foodbank Update – Week 2
What a fantastic and generous community Chase Terrace is!! Food and essential toiletry donations have continued to flood in. We have had to relocate our storage area to accommodate our new Chase Terrace Academy Foodbank. Thank you to the Site Team, the PE Department and Becky Bradford for helping with our move.
This week
Once again this week we have received over 25 full bags of donations from our local area. We have received single item donations up to a full bag of contributions that would be a normal family weekly shop. Although we would like to thank you all personally, it is impossible to do so… but THANK YOU so much, every item counts.
We would like to mention the Women’s Christian Union. (In memory of Jackie Frost) who presented parcelled up toiletry donations on Tuesday. These are ready to go out to families as soon as you contact us.
In addition Burntwood Businesses have donated £250 in vouchers that will be used to support our families.
Anne Mason, a Covid trained driver delivered parcels to local families for the first time on Friday. Thank you, we are really grateful as it is all hands on deck at school as you can imagine.
Achievement for All students remain focussed to organise donations into groups of foods and essentials so that it is easier to create food parcels. We are thrilled that some of our students can be involved.

Foodbank Update – Week 1
After the acts of kindness that you as a Chase Terrace community have shown with the launch of our foodbank, we felt that it was essential that you received a weekly update of the initiative.
Monday:
30 full bags of food donated by students and Chase Terrace families.
Anne Mason contacted school. She is a Covid trained driver and has offered to deliver food and essentials to our local families. She will deliver on Fridays as from next week.
Donation from Matt Windle: Poet with a Punch.
Tuesday
A huge donation from Bradshaws collected after school.
Spar of Rugeley (Blakemores) sent a voucher for £40
Wednesday
Women’s Christian Union. (In memory of Jackie Frost) £250 in Morrison’s vouchers.
Deliveries 10 food parcels to local Chase Terrace/ Burntwood families.
Thursday
Cannock Ladies Hockey Club made a substantial donation of 10 food parcels.
Friday
Achievement for All students made a great effort to organise donations into groups of foods and essentials so that it will be easier to create food parcels. This is especially important if we receive a parcel request that needs to be delivered immediately.
Thank you to all of those who have shared from our school Twitter and Facebook accounts or spread the word through your own personal social network groups. It is making such a difference.

Please note that all food parcels will now be delivered on a Friday due to the kind support of Anne. We are truly overwhelmed by the Chase Terrace family spirit and the generosity shown by food donations, voucher donations, offers of time to support and even sharing the information on social media.
