February to Easter
On the final day of the first Spring Half Term, Chase Terrace Academy held its second successful foodbank morning. Once again, we had a busy two and a half hours with a steady trickle of shoppers. Due to the generosity of our community, customers were provided with a wide variety of food and essentials including: breads and cake, tea coffee and sugar, baby food and a vast array of fresh fruit and vegetables which would help them to stay afloat over the half term break. The younger members of the families, who came along with their parents and carers, were treated to a pancake with sauce and a book to read. We would like to thank all staff from Chase Terrace Academy who assisted on Friday and gave us a little helping hand.
At this point it is important to recognise some unsung heroes at school who have supported this foodbank initiative without even being asked. Our site team are amazing and regularly move your food donations to our storage area and often return prepared parcels to our main entrance. Additionally, we do not want to forget our team on reception who take your phone call requests for support; pass on urgent emails and often put midweek food parcels together when the foodbank team are teaching. Finally, to our ladies in the offices who publicise the foodbank, sending out notifications and information. Thank you all.
We continue to be grateful to our Chase Terrace families for taking time out of the day to drop donations into the entrance of our main reception or phoning us to ask how you can help out. Every little thing that you do has allowed the foodbank to function smoothly and provide assistance to those who are in need.
Moving Forward:
We will continue with the foodbank up until the Easter holidays, but our updates will now be half termly. Any information will be posted via our school Twitter or our Facebook accounts, so please look out for these notifications.
After our last foodbank morning we are depleted in the following areas and…
We are in need of these basic items:
As always your support on social media has been invaluable. Please continue to back the initiative in the ways that you know how. We remain in this together and would like to thank you all for your help so far.
It is most important that those families who are need contact the school. We have a good selection of items and your calls are confidential.

Let’s hope that this half term will be easier than the last!
Preparing for the February half term break
As your children prepare to take a well-earned rest for the February half term, it is really important that we try to ensure that all the families in the Chase Terrace Academy community are well fed and looked after in the forthcoming week.
With this in mind, we have been preparing for our second foodbank that we hope that you have seen advertised via our school Facebook and Twitter accounts. It takes place on Friday 12th February, starting at 10.30 and finishing at 12.30 in the Sixth Form block. It is very important to note that we are very keen to support all the schools in the local community as we have been supported by the wider local community with donations.
We continue to be grateful to our Chase Terrace families for taking time out of the day to drop donations into the entrance of our main reception. We have also accepted substantial gifts of food from Matt, the Vicar of St John’s Church in Heath Hayes, The House of Bread and Angela from Kean Styles. The Burntwood Lions have also seen our efforts online and after a lovely phone call sent in a very generous cash donation which will go towards stocking our depleted shelves after the event this week. Thank you so much. The community spirit really has kept us all going in such difficult times.
Moving Forward:
We believe that our community is still in need of our foodbank so we will continue to run it until Easter and make another decision at this point.

Foodbank Morning at Chase Terrace Academy – February 12th, 10.30 – 12.30
We would like to announce our second Chase Terrace Foodbank Morning that will be held on Friday 12th February. This is to ensure that anyone in the community who needs a little helping hand has enough food and basic essentials over the February half term break.
It will run in the Sixth Form Centre starting at 10.30 and finishing at 12.30. Entry will be via the Sixth Form entrance only which is opposite the swimming pool. There will be somebody to signpost you into the building.
All people entering the site will need to hand sanitise and follow the one way system in the building. Face Masks must be worn at all times, unless you are exempt. Please be patient when you arrive as we may have to limit numbers inside the building to keep everyone safe. If this happens we ask that you queue outside until you are asked to enter and observe social distancing whilst waiting. If you are able to come to shop on your own that would be preferred, but not expected.
There will be a maximum of two bags of items per family so that we can support as many people as possible.
We look forward to meeting you soon. We are all in this together.
Kind Regards,
Chase Terrace Academy Foodbank
