Road Safety Workshop for Year 7 and Year 10!

This week, our Year 7 and Year 10 pupils took part in a road safety workshop, led by the Staffordshire Road Safety Education Team, and funded by the Staffordshire Safer Roads Partnership. Pupils learned about the importance of staying safe on the roads, the dangers they may face, and how to stay focused by eliminating distractions.

Mr. D. Inman, Assistant Headteacher, commented: “It is vital that our pupils are aware of how to stay safe on the roads in our community. These workshops help equip them with the knowledge and awareness they need to make responsible choices.”

Celebrating Roald Dahl Day!

In celebration of Roald Dahl Day, our school library hosted a ‘Gobblefunk Competition’ where pupils had to decipher the quirky words used by the BFG and match them to their meanings. Congratulations to Rubie (pictured), the lucky winner, who took home a collection of Roald Dahl books!

But the fun didn’t stop there! Each Year 7 personal development tutor hid a ‘golden ticket’ under a random seat, and the lucky finders were invited to the library to collect a special prize.

Join Us for the UK’s Biggest Coffee Morning!

We’re excited to announce that we will be joining the UK’s biggest coffee morning in support of Macmillan Cancer Support! On Friday, 27th September, from 9:30am to 11:30am, our school will be hosting a special event, and we invite everyone from our local community to come along.

Join us for coffee, delicious cakes, and a range of fun-filled activities, all in the name of raising funds for this fantastic cause. It’s a great opportunity to come together, make a difference, and show our support for those affected by cancer.

Year 11 Information Evening

We are pleased to invite parents and carers to our Year 11 Information Evening on Thursday, 26th September, from 6:00 PM to 7:40 PM. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain insights into the examination process for Year 11 pupils, discover effective revision tips, and learn how to best support your child during this crucial time.

Refreshments will be provided, and you will have the chance to attend a talk led by English, Maths and Science teachers to discuss strategies for core exam preparation.

It’s Feel Good Friday!

This week, we’ve loved celebrating our amazing pupils!

A big shoutout to Zak, James, and Caleb who lent a helping hand to Mrs Finch, our Academy Progress Lead, when her dog Lottie got stuck in a bush! Their kindness didn’t go unnoticed – thank you!

A huge congratulations also goes to our talented writers who entered a creative writing competition in their own time. Ms N Mason, Headteacher, met with the group to recognise their achievement as their stories will be published in an anthology titled Mission Chaos – The Calamity Chronicles! We are so proud of you all!

It was wonderful to see so many prospective parents, carers, and pupils visiting us to see all that Chase Terrace Academy has to offer. Our pupils proudly toured visitors around every department, with exciting live dissections and fire experiments in Science, pupil performances in Drama, medieval armour in History, captivating Music performances, First Aid club demonstrations, delicious food samples from our catering team, and fun quizzes in English and Maths. There was something for everyone!

We are immensely proud of the 100+ pupil volunteers who helped make the night special, showcasing the exceptional character and school values that define CTA.  

Ms. N Mason, Headteacher, said: “I am so proud of every staff member and pupil involved. It was a joy to meet so many prospective families and hear their wonderful feedback. I look forward to welcoming new faces into our CTA family in the upcoming year.”

Open Evening – TONIGHT!

Don’t forget that our Open Evening is taking place TONIGHT, Thursday 19th September, from 6pm to 8pm! Join us to explore our school and discover all we have to offer.

You’ll have the chance to take a 90-minute tour of the school, meet our fantastic staff and pupils, and see subject-specific demonstrations and activities that give a glimpse into life at secondary school. It’s also a great opportunity to view our wonderful facilities!

A presentation will be held, where senior leaders will be on hand to chat with families and answer any questions. Tours begin at 6pm, with the last one starting at 7:15pm to ensure everyone has enough time to explore all departments.

Additionally, open mornings will be available for families who would like to visit the school during the day, following the Open Evening. Keep an eye on our website, Facebook, and Twitter for updates.

Year 11 English Intervention Sessions Have Begun!

Introducing Liam Bridgen to the CTA Music School!

We are thrilled to introduce Liam Bridgen as our new Drum Teacher at CTA Music School!

Liam developed a deep passion for music early in life. By the age of 10, he was already playing the drums, and at just 12, he performed his first gig. This early start in music paved the way for his lifelong dedication to the drums.

After completing his initial education, Liam honed his craft at Walsall College, focusing on Music Performance. His dedication earned him a place at the prestigious British Institute of Modern Music, where he graduated with a 2:1 degree in Popular Music Performance.

As a versatile session drummer, Liam has worked with a wide range of artists across RnB, Jazz, Rock, Metal, and Pop genres. His adaptability and skill have made him a sought-after musician, performing with wedding bands, show bands, and currently, as the drummer for The Roy Orbison Story.

But Liam’s passion doesn’t stop at performance—he is deeply committed to music education and eager to share his knowledge and experience with the next generation of musicians.

Open Evening

We are so excited to welcome parents, carers, and prospective pupils to our Opening Evening on Thursday 19th September, from 6pm until 8pm, to visit our school, and see everything that we have to offer.

You will have the opportunity to take a tour (approximately 90 minutes) of our school and meet our wonderful staff and pupils who will be showcasing all that our school has to offer. Subject-specific demonstrations and activities will be taking place across the school to give you an idea of what secondary school life is like, whilst being able to see our fantastic site and facilities! A presentation will take place in our main hall where senior leaders will be available to speak with families and answer any questions.

We ask that parents/carers book an arrival time to support us in making arrangements for the evening and to cater for all guests. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to book their preferred arrival time via this link.

Tours will commence from 6pm and to enable all visitors to have sufficient time to visit all departments, the last tour will commence from 7:15pm.

Open mornings will also be made available for families to book and visit during the school day, following our Open Evening. Please keep an eye on our school website, Facebook and Twitter pages where further information will be released.
