Our First Aid Ambassadors have been hard at work once again, sharing their knowledge and helping to equip others with life-saving skills.
This time, we welcomed pupils from Holly Grove Primary Academy for a hands-on first aid workshop. The children learned essential skills including CPR, the recovery position, and how to stop severe bleeding. They also enjoyed a defibrillator demonstration and tested their new knowledge in a quiz at the end of the session.
While we hope they never need to use these skills, we believe it is incredibly important to prepare and empower young people with the confidence and knowledge to act in an emergency.
We were also delighted to receive the following feedback from Holly Grove Primary Academy:
“Your First Aid Ambassadors were absolutely amazing. They delivered the sessions with such confidence, enthusiasm, and professionalism, and they were a real credit to you and to your school. Our children thoroughly enjoyed the experience and came away having learned some incredibly valuable first aid skills.”
A huge well done to our First Aid Ambassadors for being such excellent role models and representing the school so brilliantly and to Mrs Benton for organising this visit!

Following on from our assemblies last week, and with the possibility of another heatwave on the way, we would like to share important information from the RNLI.
As temperatures rise, more young people are heading to rivers, lakes and the coast to cool off. Tragically, this also leads to an increase in water-related incidents. During the May half-term alone, 19 people lost their lives in UK waters, including 14 teenagers.
Please take a moment to remind your child of the Water Safety Code:
· Stop and think
· Stay together with a friend or family member
· If you get into trouble in the water, Float to Live
· Call 999 or 112 if you see someone else in trouble in the water Further information can be found on the RNLI website: https://tinyurl.com/3fbwkv8v
Let’s all do our part to stay safe and enjoy the warmer weather responsibly.

We recently said goodbye to our Year 11 students at their Leavers’ assembly – a special and very emotional occasion!
Mrs Scholes and Miss Grave shared their farewells, and our personal development tutors spoke about the memories and experiences that have shaped this year group. It was also great to celebrate students with awards, recognising their hard work and achievements.
A big thank you to Izzy, Rosie and Fleur for their brilliant performances, which made the assembly even more memorable.
We’re really proud of all our Year 11 students and wish them the very best for whatever comes next, whether that’s sixth form, college or an apprenticeship. Good luck – and don’t be strangers!

We were delighted to welcome award-winning author A.M. Dassu to our school as part of our ongoing focus on literacy. Our Year 7 and Year 8 students enjoyed inspiring assemblies based on her acclaimed novel Kicked Out, followed by a special workshop where selected pupils had the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about her writing journey.
We were also grateful to Fulfen Primary School for joining us! All students thoroughly enjoyed the visit, and we are very grateful to A.M. Dassu for taking the time to join us and inspire our young readers and writers!

As part of this term’s House Challenge, our KS3 students were invited to design an A3 poster on the theme of “Maths is Magic.”
The effort and imagination of the submitted entries has been fantastic! A selection of these will now be submitted to the UK Mathematics Trust competition. If we’re lucky enough to win, our design will be reproduced and used in schools across the country to promote next year’s Maths Challenges.
Well done to everyone who took part!

We had so much to celebrate during our Thankful Thursday and Feel-Good Friday celebrations last week!
Miss Gleeson met with Emilie, who recently competed at a national figure skating competition. Emilie spoke about her dedication, training schedule, and her passion for the sport – an inspiring achievement we are very proud of.
We also celebrated Hollie, who was nominated for her incredible hard work and commitment. Hollie has received contract offers from Manchester United, Birmingham City FC, and Leicester City FC. She has chosen to join the Manchester United Girls’ Academy and will officially sign in July at the Manchester United Stadium – a fantastic accomplishment!
Finally, we hosted a ‘thank you’ breakfast for our Sixth Form students who supported our recent Awards Evening, whether by hosting the event or running the photobooth. We are extremely grateful for their time, effort, and contribution – the evening would not have been possible without them.
Well done to everyone involved – we are very proud of our students and all they continue to achieve!
