We are thrilled to share that we have received 28 wonderful letters from the pupils at Notre-Dame de Bellegarde School. Recently, Ms C Horton’s Modern Foreign Languages class have thoroughly enjoyed corresponding with their new pen pals and have eagerly written back!
This pen pal exchange is a fantastic opportunity for our pupils to practice their language skills and build connections with pupils from another country. We are proud of our pupils for embracing this cultural exchange and look forward to the continued development of these international friendships.

We hope all of our pupils had a restful half-term break. We’re now in Week 4 of exam season, and we want to say a big “Well done!” to all our Year 11 and Year 13 pupils for their hard work and dedication so far. Keep up the great effort!
As a reminder, pupils are only required to attend lessons for subjects where they haven’t yet completed their final exam. Please remember to sign in at the main reception when you arrive for lessons and sign out when you leave. This is crucial for fire evacuation and safeguarding purposes.
Pupils with exams scheduled in both the morning and afternoon will have the option to return home between exams. For those who do not wish to go home, the school library will be open for quiet study.
Wishing you all the best in your exams this week! You’ve got this!

Today, we’re celebrating two of our amazing pupils who have achieved outstanding success in sports!
Hayden met with Mrs. S. Morgan, our Business Manager, who congratulated him on his football team reaching the top Division 1 in the Walsall Junior Football League! Mrs. Morgan expressed, “Hayden is an inspiration to us all, demonstrating tenacity, team spirit, hard work, and support for his teammates. Hayden should be very proud of himself and of his personal values!”
Miss J. Devereux also celebrated with Jessica for her remarkable success in rugby, with her team emerging as the overall winners! Jessica’s dedication and skill have truly shone through.
We are incredibly proud of both Hayden and Jessica for their achievements and the positive values they embody. They are fantastic role models for our school community!
We encourage parents to continue nominating their children for this celebration. Please be aware, however, that due to the ongoing Y11 and Y13 examinations, there may be some delays in acknowledgements.

This week, assemblies have taken place for our Year 7 pupils to inform them about the upcoming changes to leadership. Starting Monday, 3rd June, Mrs. S Southwell will be handing over the role of Head of Year 7 to Mr M Birt, who will spend the next half term getting to know the year group and will continue to support and lead them into the next stage of their CTA journey as they transition to Year 8 in September 2024.
Mrs H Hewitt will remain with the year group as Student Support Officer, working alongside Mr. Birt as the new Head of Year.
Mr. Birt shared his enthusiasm, saying:
“I am delighted to be the Head of Year 8. With over 15 years of teaching experience, including the last 5 years at Chase Terrace Academy, and as the current Head of Year 11, I am looking forward to this new role. I want to express my thanks to Mrs. Southwell for her excellent work in welcoming Year 7 and helping them settle in so well. We’ve been working together to ensure a smooth transition and will continue to collaborate closely to support your child’s development. I have high hopes and expectations for what we can achieve together as a year group. By working collaboratively with parents, teachers, and pupils, we can help each young person fulfil their potential.”
Please don’t hesitate to contact Mr. Birt if you have any questions or concerns at m.birt@chaseterraceacademy.co.uk

This week, we were thrilled to welcome back Jo Wilson from Staffordshire Cricket for an exciting cricket session.
Cricket may not be a standard part of the curriculum for KS3 girls, but today, we’re encouraging our pupils to step out of their comfort zones and try something new.
A huge shoutout and heartfelt thanks to Staffordshire Cricket for their generous funding, which made this incredible experience possible!
A big thank you to Jo Wilson for visiting us again and coaching our pupils!
