House Assemblies Update
This week marked the exciting launch of our first House assemblies of 2024. Pupils attended in their respective Houses – Brocket, Elk, Fallow, and Sika – to celebrate achievements, learn about our new rewards system, and foster a sense of community.
The results of our current House Points standings were also shared. After half term and the first week of the Spring Term, Fallow is leading the charge with an impressive 13,121 House Points, closely followed by Brocket with 12,925, Sika with 12,813, and Elk with 11,707. Together, we’ve awarded over 50,000 House Points this academic year – an outstanding 3,160 per week!
In honour of LGBTQ+ History Month in February, our first House Event invites pupils to create celebration bunting as form groups, exemplifying our school value of respect. This initiative not only fosters creativity but also provides an opportunity to bridge the gap between Houses, with five House Points up for grabs for each member of the winning form per year group.
Our assemblies centred around the theme of community, emphasising that each House is a collaborative team. An informative video was played, which showcased the significance of community, reinforcing the strong bonds within our school. From the coloured ties representing Houses to the commendable efforts of our ‘CTA Wombles’ who frequently litter-pick in our community, interform competitions, and sports days – Chase Terrace Academy truly embodies the essence of community within the Houses.
Pictured here are Androniki, Lucie, Fin and Charlie, who are amongst the top House-Point earners for their House! They consistently represent the school values and are excellent role models for the wider school community.
As we continue into the Spring Term, we encourage every pupil to keep earning those valuable house points. Aim high, as the winning House at the end of the year will be celebrated in style during our rewards celebrations!
Let’s continue the spirit of tenacity, collaboration, and respect as we journey through the academic year together.

Exciting Announcement for Year 10!
We are thrilled to announce a new addition to our pastoral team. Please join us in welcoming our new Head of Year 10, Miss G Clarke!
Miss Clarke joined us in September as an English and Drama teacher and has now embraced the role of leading our fantastic Year 10 cohort, replacing Miss R Clenton who sadly left Chase Terrace Academy at the end of the Autumn term.
Mrs. S Pickin will continue to be our Year 10 Student Support Officer – to assist pupils’ day to day to make progress and provide advice, guidance and support. In light of Miss Clarke’s new responsibilities, her previous form group, 7N, will now have their personal development lessons with Mr E Reinikovas.
Miss Clarke shared her thoughts on her new role: “I am delighted to be appointed as the Head of Year 10. They are a fantastic year group, and I am looking forward to working closely with Mrs Pickin. Year 10 is a pivotal year for our pupils, and I am excited about supporting them through the study of their GCSEs ahead of their examinations next academic year. Please do not hesitate to get in touch if there are any issues, but equally, if you have some positive news that you wish to share with us.”
Let’s give a warm welcome to Miss Clarke and Mr Reinikovas as they take on these important roles. We’re confident that their dedication and passion will contribute to the success and well-being of our pupils.

Financial Education Session with Four Oaks Financial Services!
Today, we were delighted to welcome representatives from Four Oaks Financial Services to our school for an enlightening session on personal finances.
The engaging discussions covered topics such as taxes, national insurance contributions, and pensions, providing our pupils with valuable insights into the world of finance.
We were impressed by the thoughtful and insightful questions posed by our pupils during these sessions, showcasing their keen interest in enhancing their financial knowledge.
This visit was a direct response to a recent pupil survey where some pupils expressed a desire for more information on financial education. It’s heartening to see our school community actively participating in shaping their educational experience!
Miss J Devereux, Assistant Headteacher, shared her thoughts on the session, stating, “Today’s visit was an informative session that will undoubtedly contribute to our pupils’ development of financial literacy. Empowering them with these skills is crucial for their future success.”
A big thank you to Four Oaks Financial Services for their time and expertise!

Feel Good Friday Celebration
Today marked our first Feel Good Friday of 2024, and we’re thrilled to highlight the incredible kindness and compassion displayed by three remarkable pupils – Sophie, Maddison, and Molly!
These outstanding individuals were nominated by their Health and Social Care teacher, Miss M Turner, for their heart-warming gestures during the festive period. The pupils in this class designed and wrote Christmas cards to residents of a local care home, spreading joy and festive wishes.
What makes Sophie, Maddison and Molly’s efforts even more commendable is the empathy they displayed when they learned that a family member of their teacher was unwell. Without hesitation, they extended their kindness by crafting a special Christmas card filled with well wishes. This act of compassion truly exemplifies the caring nature of our pupils.
To recognise their exemplary actions, these pupils had the privilege of meeting with Ms N Mason, Headteacher, and Miss J Devereux, Assistant Headteacher. Ms N Mason expressed her admiration, saying, “It’s a wonderful thing to see young minds channelling their compassion into tangible acts of kindness. I am sure their thoughtful gestures made a significant impact and brightened someone’s day. The kindness and support these pupils have shown their teacher are truly heartwarming and exemplify our core CTA values. I hope these pupils feel as proud of themselves as we are of them for their outstanding kindness and community spirit.”
Let’s celebrate Sophie, Maddison, and Molly for representing the values that make our school community special. Their actions remind us of the positive impact we can have when we extend a hand of kindness to those around us. Well done, and thank you for spreading joy and compassion!
