Jaguar Land Rover Careers Visit

We were delighted to welcome Mike Roberts from Jaguar Land Rover, who visited our pupils to talk about careers in the automotive industry.

Mike brought along a stunning Range Rover HSE and spoke about the design, manufacturing, and even climate testing processes involved in bringing a vehicle to life.

Our pupils thoroughly enjoyed exploring the car’s features and learning more about the wide range of career and apprenticeship opportunities available at Jaguar Land Rover.

A huge thank you to Mike for such an inspiring visit!

Transition Day 2025

We were delighted to welcome our new Year 7 pupils for Transition Day today! It was fantastic to see them getting involved in a range of lessons including Science, Maths, RE and PE, as well as learning about our Accelerated Reader programme. Pupils also enjoyed some time in our beautiful Memorial Garden and Year 7 courtyard.

To round off a brilliant day, everyone attended a special assembly featuring a surprise performance from our talented staff band and peripatetic music teachers from the CTA Music School!

Unfortunately, we weren’t able to capture photos of this fantastic day as parental consents are not yet in place – but we’re looking forward to sharing lots of updates once our new pupils start in September!

A huge thank you to all the pupils who joined us – we hope you had a fantastic time, and we can’t wait to welcome you in September!

Thank you also to the parents and carers who joined us for our Transition Evening last night – we’re excited to welcome you and your child into our CTA community.

Year 12 Charity Fundraiser

Recently, our Year 12 pupils took part in their annual charity rounders sports fundraiser. This annual fundraiser supports both our Sixth Form Charity Fund and our nominated charity for the academic year. Following a recent vote by our Year 12 cohort, we are proud to support Alzheimer’s Research UK – a charity dedicated to advancing the understanding, diagnosis, and treatment of dementia.

The day was filled with friendly sports competitions, providing pupils with the chance to stay active whilst making a positive impact for others. We extend a special thank you to our Sixth Form committee for their outstanding organisation in making the event a great success.

Donations are still open until Monday 7th July – please consider supporting this fantastic cause!

SpeakUp competition

We’re proud to share that Casey and Millie, Year 7, have been entered into the ‘Speak Up!’ National Monologue and Duologue Drama Competition.

Their original piece explores the dynamic between two sisters vying for their mum’s attention. What begins as a light-hearted sibling argument soon reveals deeper themes about belonging, love, and the desire to be seen.

Wishing you both the very best in the competition Millie and Casey!

Uniform Update – Monday

In light of the warm weather forecast for Monday, pupils are permitted to attend school in their CTA PE kit if they wish.

Alternatively, pupils may wear their usual school uniform (shirt, tie, and trousers/skirt). Blazers are not required on this occasion and jumpers must not be worn in place of blazers.

Please note that pupils who arrive not adhering to these guidelines will have their parent/carer contacted and will return to lessons once appropriately dressed.

We will continue to update families regarding uniform expectations as the week progresses.

Pupils are encouraged to bring a water bottle and apply suncream to remain hydrated and protected throughout the day.

Thank you for your cooperation.

Duke of Edinburgh’s Award presentation evening

We were delighted to celebrate our Duke of Edinburgh Award participants at last night’s Rewards Evening.

Pupils who completed their Silver Awards delivered group presentations, reflecting on their expedition experiences and the skills they developed. Each presentation showcased their personal growth and the impact of taking part in the programme. All participants received a certificate and badge in recognition of their achievements.

A huge thank you to Mrs S Pickin, our Duke of Edinburgh Leader, and her fantastic team, whose tireless support ensured every expedition ran smoothly and safely. We’re also incredibly proud to share that Mrs Pickin was recently honoured with the ‘Unsung Hero’ award as part of the national ‘Thank a Teacher Day’. This award celebrates the incredible staff making a difference in schools across the UK and, as only a small number of nominations are selected, this a truly outstanding achievement and we are grateful to Mrs Pickin for the support she gives to our school.

Congratulations to all pupils for completing your awards and for making the evening such a memorable celebration of success!

If your child is interested in joining the Duke of Edinburgh Award next year, we’re holding an information evening on Wednesday 2nd July 2025 at 6pm. The award is open to all pupils in Years 8 to 12 and is open to new pupils thinking about enrolling and current participants wanting to learn about the next level.

Rewards Evening 2025

Last night, we proudly held our Rewards Evening at the Bescot Stadium, Walsall. Awards were presented in categories including Subject Awards, Head of Year Awards, Head of House Awards, and Headteacher’s Awards. The evening was hosted by our Sixth Form pupils Isla, Ellie, Khalen, Grace, and Caitlin, who also shared their experiences at CTA and future aspirations.

Guests also enjoyed exceptional musical performances from some of our talented pupils, Amelia, Ellie, Izzy, Rosie and Fleur, who demonstrated the talent we have here at Chase Terrace Academy.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the ‘Stephen Sutton Community Award’, a new award introduced this year in memory of Stephen Sutton, a former Chase Terrace pupil remembered for his inspirational charity work and spirit. This award honours pupils who go above and beyond to support their community, both inside and outside of school. We are truly grateful to Esther Allen, who not only delivered a powerful speech about our chosen charity, Spark Burntwood, but also presented this award.

A huge thank you to Miss Pickerill and Miss Lindsey for organising the evening, and to all staff who nominated and supported pupils. We were also delighted to welcome Mr A Stewart, Chair of Governors, and Mr M Donoghue, CEO of JTMAT – thank you both for your speeches, continued support, and presence.

Finally, to our amazing pupils – as Ms Mason, Headteacher, shared: “You are the reason we do what we do.” We are incredibly proud of your effort, resilience, and hard work that you demonstrate every lesson, every day, every term. And to our parents and carers, thank you for your continued support, both during the evening and throughout your child’s time with us at Chase Terrace Academy.

We look forward to building on this success in the year ahead.
