End of Term Announcement
Due to a large number of staff out of school as a result of being contacted by track and trace, we have taken the difficult decision to close school at the end of the summer term today (15/7/21) for pupils. There will be online lessons provided tomorrow (Friday) by staff who are in school. Please check Satchel One for work for your child to complete tomorrow. We have also had six positive lateral flow device/PCR tests reported to us today. One case is in year 7, two in year 8, two in year 10 and one in year 12. Due to the significant impact this has on families when children are identified as a contact, especially so close to your holiday period, we do not want to risk any further disruption to you and your families. I hope that you understand the genuine reasons for our concerns and our actions. May I take this further opportunity to wish you a restful and enjoyable summer with your friends and families and I look forward to a more normal academic year for us all next year.
With kindest regards,
Ms Mason and the team at CTA.
Foodbank Update – Week 11
Preparing for the February half term break
As your children prepare to take a well-earned rest for the February half term, it is really important that we try to ensure that all the families in the Chase Terrace Academy community are well fed and looked after in the forthcoming week.
With this in mind, we have been preparing for our second foodbank that we hope that you have seen advertised via our school Facebook and Twitter accounts. It takes place on Friday 12th February, starting at 10.30 and finishing at 12.30 in the Sixth Form block. It is very important to note that we are very keen to support all the schools in the local community as we have been supported by the wider local community with donations.
We continue to be grateful to our Chase Terrace families for taking time out of the day to drop donations into the entrance of our main reception. We have also accepted substantial gifts of food from Matt, the Vicar of St John’s Church in Heath Hayes, The House of Bread and Angela from Kean Styles. The Burntwood Lions have also seen our efforts online and after a lovely phone call sent in a very generous cash donation which will go towards stocking our depleted shelves after the event this week. Thank you so much. The community spirit really has kept us all going in such difficult times.
Moving Forward:
We believe that our community is still in need of our foodbank so we will continue to run it until Easter and make another decision at this point.
We are in need of the following basic items:
- Fresh fruit and vegetables (on Thursdays only)
- Fairy liquid
- Washing detergents
- Bathroom products including toilet rolls
- Household cleaning products.
As always your support on social media has been invaluable. Please continue to back the initiative in the ways that you know how. We remain in this together and would like to thank you all for your help so far.
It is most important that those families who are need contact the school. We have a good selection of items and your calls are confidential.
If you require a parcel please contact us on:

We hope that you have a safe and restful half term.
