Following on from today’s Feel Good Friday where we recognised the contributions that our pupils made to the summer school programme, we have begun to reminisce on the amazing summer we had here at Chase Terrace Academy.

Our summer school, open to pupils in Years 7-10, was an absolute blast! We partnered with the Problem Solving Company to create an unforgettable experience filled with adventure and learning. Our pupils took part in fun-filled activities such as laser-tag, mini-golf, football, swimming and even in magical arts! Tackling these thought-provoking and complex tasks challenged their problem-solving abilities and critical thinking and we are very proud of the tenacious approach they took to these.

One of the most valuable aspects of this summer school was the opportunity for our staff to get to know our pupils even better. Building these relationships is crucial in creating a supportive and nurturing learning environment, and we’re proud of the connections that were made. Miss M Turner said: ‘Summer school was such a privilege to be part of and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was excellent to see how involved all of the pupils were and how much they genuinely enjoyed their time. The pupils behaved and conducted themselves in a really respectful manner; they showed that they were thankful for staff and the activities that were provided and in turn got the most out of their experience. My heart could have burst I was so proud and happy that they were having an excellent time.’

As we embark on a new school year, let’s carry the lessons and memories from this summer school with us. It’s a reminder that learning can be incredibly enjoyable, and we’re excited to continue inspiring our pupils to reach for the stars.
