Our Pupil Leadership team had the incredible opportunity to host Mr. Darren Ennis, the esteemed leader of Burntwood Town Council, in their weekly meeting.
During the session, Mr. Ennis shared valuable insights into his roles within both the Burntwood Town Council and Lichfield District Council. Our pupils were given the chance to ask questions, and participated in an engaging discussion! They delved into topics ranging from anti-social behaviour to services for young people, upcoming building plans in the area, and environmental initiatives.
Mr. Ennis not only shed light on ongoing projects but also inspired our pupils by offering ways for them to actively participate. He shared tips on effective council membership and how to bring about positive change through challenging ideas.
Miss H Pickerill, Pupil Leadership Coordinator, said “We think it is really important to work as part of our community and over the past few months we have been strengthening our connection with Burntwood Town Council. It is really exciting to see how much the Council and Councillors like Mr Ennis want to hear the views of young people in the area and work on solutions for issues that they raise. The pupils conducted themselves excellently and asked brilliant questions. “
A huge thank you to Mr. Darren Ennis for taking the time to inspire and empower our pupil leaders! Let’s continue fostering these connections and working together to create positive change in our community.
