As part of the History Department’s extra-curricular offer, we welcomed Mr Goodall, a specialist in ‘Living History,’ to deliver four fascinating workshops for our Year 11 historians – in which they could handle a vast array of genuine historical artefacts pertaining to World War I, II and Medicine Through Time.
Pupils were thrilled to physically examine these artefacts – some from over 1000 years ago! Pupils examined artefacts such as barbed wire from the trenches of the Western Front, shrapnel, medical equipment, and even weaponry from the Medieval Period!
This series of workshops was invaluable in engaging our pupils in the run up to their exams, and enhancing their knowledge of their GCSE History topics. Thank you to Mr Goodall, and to our pupils for their outstanding behaviour!
