To celebrate, we’ve had a range of exciting activities for our pupils! This morning, during Personal Development time, pupils took on some fun language-based challenges. From tackling the “Escape Room” virtual challenge to listening to staff speak in various foreign languages, pupils had to identify the language, guess the speaker, and even attempt translations for bonus house points! Winning PD groups from each year will receive House Points!
At lunchtime, Mr S Royston (Head of Department for MFL) hosted an activity where staff wrote descriptions of themselves in French and German. Pupils had to match the descriptions to the correct staff members – sweets for all who participated!
Our food areas joined in the celebration too, offering global delicacies like Greek gyros and Italian cappuccino muffins. Staff have also greeted pupils before lessons in different languages, and the pupils loved joining in!
What a wonderful day celebrating languages and cultures from around the world!
