Last week, 140 of our Year 10 pupils had the opportunity to see an enchanting performance of “A Christmas Carol” at the QUAD Theatre in Derby.
This experience is a direct link to our English curriculum! As our Year 10 pupils delve into the depths of this classic text, they’re not just reading words on a page – they’re witnessing the magic of Dickens’ world come alive on stage.
Miss H Pickerill, Trip Leader, shared her thoughts on the excursion: “It was truly amazing to see the timeless tale of ‘A Christmas Carol’. The pupils found it not only entertaining but also incredibly useful for their studies as this text will be on their English Literature exams next academic year. Witnessing the characters and themes in action has added a whole new layer of understanding. I’m thrilled to see our pupils demonstrating great respect for the material, and it’s heartening to know that this experience will undoubtedly enrich their learning journey.”
A big shoot-out to all the pupils for their enthusiasm and engagement during this memorable trip! We’re proud to create opportunities that not only align with academic goals but also foster a love for literature and the arts.
