Today is Time to Talk Day – an opportunity for us, as a school community, to encourage open and honest conversations about mental health. Just like physical health, we all have mental health, and it can change from day to day. By normalising these conversations, we help young people understand that mental health is a natural part of life and that support is always available.
In school, we marked Time to Talk Day through assemblies and Personal Development lessons, where students focused on:
- Talking openly about feelings in a safe and supportive environment
- Understanding that mental health is just as important as physical health
- Reducing stigma and building confidence to ask for help when needed
At Chase Terrace Academy, a wide range of support is available for students, including our Progress Teams, staff trained in Youth and Adult Mental Health First Aid, access to the School Nurse, and support from the local Mental Health Support Team. Further resources can be found on the Mental Health and Wellbeing page of our school website: https://chaseterraceacademy.co.uk/mental-health-support/
Together, by talking more, we can support one another.
