Yesterday, a group of our students visited Newport Rugby Club as part of an initiative to inspire girls to try new sports and grow in confidence and resilience.

They took part in a tag rugby session, learning how to pass, tackle safely and understand basic game formations. A real highlight was getting to see the Women’s Rugby World Cup trophy up close!

Trip leader Mrs Lloyd said: “None of the students had played rugby before, but they all threw themselves into it – from the first drill to the final game. They got stuck in, got muddy, and had an absolutely fantastic time.”
