Our Year 10 Product Design pupils recently had an exciting opportunity as they welcomed guest speaker Cathy Fellows, Project Manager for Lichfield Arts and Director of the Fuse Festival. Cathy launched a GCSE Live Brief that challenges students to design a prototype product aimed at improving comfort at the next Fuse Festival.

This real-world project comes with specific criteria: the product must be: affordable, made from sustainable or recycled materials, suitable for a range of ages, portable, creative and innovative. 

Mr Hewitt highlighted how this opportunity will not only allow pupils to explore product design in a meaningful context but also help them develop a wide range of transferable and employable skills. The experience can be proudly featured on future CVs, college applications, and personal statements, giving pupils a competitive edge for their future careers.
