Today was an exciting and enriching day for our Year 12 pupils as they engaged in a dynamic Employability Workshop. Our pupils had the invaluable opportunity to engage in 20-minute interviews with representatives from diverse sectors, gaining real-world insights and honing their interview skills.
Prior to the interviews, our dedicated form tutors worked closely with the pupils, ensuring they were well-prepared and confident. Miss J Devereux, Assistant Headteacher, also led an informative assembly highlighting the significance of interviews and shared valuable tips on managing nerves.
Following the interviews, the learning continued with carousel workshops led by accomplished professionals. Alison Taylor, a Global Business Development Entrepreneur, shared insights into the corporate world. David Clift, founder of the Good Turns Foundation, offered perspectives on the not-for-profit sector. Chris Brewerton, a representative from the Chamber of Commerce, provided valuable insights into the world of business.
These workshops aimed to broaden our pupils’ horizons, foster a deeper understanding of different sectors, and inspire them to explore diverse career paths. We’re grateful to our guest speakers for their time and expertise in guiding our pupils toward a bright and successful future. Well done to all our Year 12 pupils for their active participation and enthusiasm throughout the day!
Miss J Devereux expressed, ‘Today’s event aimed to empower our pupils with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in the professional world. These experiences go beyond the classroom, shaping them into confident, capable individuals ready to make their mark. The future looks bright for our Year 12 pupils, and we are excited to witness their continued growth and success.’
A big thank you to our guest interviewers for sharing their expertise and inspiring our pupils! These experiences are instrumental in preparing our young leaders for the future.
