Our Year 10 Geography pupils recently completed a fieldwork trip to Stafford Town Centre, where they conducted research into the themes of ‘Sustainability’ and ‘Flows.’ This experience provided a unique opportunity for hands-on learning and real-world application of classroom knowledge.
Throughout the day, the pupils conducted various studies, including pedestrian and vehicle counts during the morning and afternoon to observe and analyse differences in flows. They also completed regeneration surveys, crime prevention surveys, and an investigation comparing Stafford to the principles of ‘Egan’s Wheel,’ a well-known model for assessing sustainability in urban environments.
This fieldwork trip was a fantastic learning opportunity for our pupils, allowing them to apply their classroom knowledge in a real-world context. A big thank you to our Geography staff and everyone who made this trip possible!
