As our Year 11 and Year 13 pupils prepare for the upcoming GCSE and A-Level Examinations, we want to take a moment to address an important topic: the use of energy drinks.
We understand that exam season can be a stressful time, and some may feel tempted to turn to energy drinks for a quick boost. However, we urge all pupils to reconsider this choice. Research has shown that excessive consumption of energy drinks can have negative effects on both physical and mental health, including increased heart rate, difficulty sleeping, and heightened anxiety levels. These effects can be particularly detrimental during exam periods when focus and calmness are essential.
In light of this, we strongly discourage the use of energy drinks over the exam period. Instead, we encourage pupils to prioritise their health and well-being by getting enough rest, staying hydrated with water, and maintaining a balanced diet.
