Recently, our Pupil Leadership Team completed two engaging sessions of leadership training.
The first workshop was led by Adam (Head of Operations for PI-KEM) and Charlie (Head of Sutton, Lichfield, and Tamworth Chambers of Commerce). In this session, pupils were challenged with creating paper chains while each team member followed different specific instructions designed to cause conflict and disrupt effective teamwork. This exercise allowed the teams to evaluate the task, identify the problems, and discuss strategies to overcome them. This experience provided valuable lessons that our pupils can share with future employers to demonstrate their leadership capabilities.
The second session was led by Adrianne Carter, a body language expert. Pupils learned about the importance of presenting confident body language during interviews. They identified key aspects of confident body language and then participated in an interview scenario, putting their newfound knowledge into practice. This session was incredibly beneficial, equipping our pupil leaders with the confidence to excel in their roles and future endeavours.
We are proud of our pupils for their enthusiastic participation and the skills they have gained from these sessions. These experiences are sure to be valuable assets as they continue to grow as leaders.
