Here at CTTC we feel that school is about far more than learning the curriculum alone. SMSC and PSHE development is the term used to embrace this broader dimension. It ranges from teaching in RE and Citizenship through to sex and relationship education and a wide range of extra-curricular and out-of-school activities. Here are just a few examples of topics which students cover during their collapsed timetable mornings:
Transition into Secondary School, Self Esteem/Positive Body Image, Bullying,Managing Emotions, Personal Safety, Grooming and Exploitation/Internet Safety, Sexual Health, Healthy Relationships, Bereavement and Loss, Debt and managing money, Savings and Money Management, The Law, Government and Politics, Drugs and Alcohol, Disability awareness, Homelessness, Teenage Cancer and Motivational workshops.
