In support of Young Minds and in recognition of World Mental Health Day on Thursday 10th October, we invite all pupils to participate in our ‘Hello Yellow’ day! We encourage everyone to wear one yellow accessory to help raise awareness for mental health support.
Please remember, this is not a non-uniform day, so pupils should wear their usual school uniform alongside their yellow accessory.

We were thrilled to welcome the BBC Bitesize Careers Roadshow to Chase Terrace Academy today! Hosted by BBC Radio Presenter Lucas Yeomans, our pupils had the chance to hear from three panellists: Molly Beard, Artist & Illustrator, David Whitehouse, Marketing Director & Founder, and Esther Beckley, Production Apprentice. It was an especially proud moment to welcome back Molly and David as CTA alumni, showcasing the incredible opportunities available to our pupils after their time here.
Pupils heard first-hand about the panellists’ experiences at school, the pathways they chose after Post-16, and the exciting roles they hold now. They also gained insight into the wide range of careers within the BBC and the broadcasting industry.
A huge thank you to our panellists for answering pupils’ questions and offering such valuable advice!

Mr. Newman, Deputy Headteacher, had the pleasure of meeting with a talented group of pupils who submitted entries for the national ‘Poetry by Heart’ competition at the end of the last academic year. We are delighted to announce that our pupils have received fantastic recognition from the judges!
Ellie (Year 12) won the prestigious ‘Best in County’ award. Benjamin (Year 9) and Leigha (Year 10) were both awarded ‘Highly Commended’ certificates. Androniki (Year 9), Charlie (Year 9), Lucie (Year 9), and Mariama (Year 10) received ‘Commended’ certificates.
Each pupil received glowing, personalised feedback based on their performances, and we couldn’t be prouder of their incredible achievements!

Our pupils had a wonderful time at the Garrick Theatre watching Coming to England, a play adapted by David Wood from the book by Floella Benjamin. The performance tells the story of Floella’s own journey from Trinidad to England, portraying how young Floella worked tirelessly, ultimately becoming Baroness Benjamin of Beckenham. The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with many pupils describing the show as ‘fantastic’!

We’re excited to invite all parents/carers and members of our community to our first Parent Forum on Thursday 10th October from 5pm-6pm.
At this meeting, we’ll be introducing our new Parent, Teachers, and Friends Association (PTFA), which aims to bring everyone in our school community together to fundraise, plan, and deliver exciting events throughout the year.
The PTFA will meet just once per half term, so it’s a great way to get involved without a big-time commitment.
