Congratulations to our First Aid Graduates!

We’re incredibly proud of another group of pupils who have successfully completed their First Aid Training Course this half term. Over six weeks, they developed vital life-saving skills including CPR, defibrillation, the recovery position, choking response, and more.

Led by a fully qualified instructor, these sessions are designed to equip pupils with the knowledge and confidence to act in an emergency. Each pupil received a competency certificate, proudly presented by their Progress Team.

Well done to all involved – your dedication could make all the difference!

Interhouse Competition Week

This week, all KS3 pupils have been taking part in our Interhouse Competition, competing across a wide range of sporting activities.

From fitness and swimming to handball, dance, basketball and orienteering – it’s been fantastic to see so many pupils getting involved and representing their Houses. A special mention goes to the incredible turnout for dance rehearsals, with over 100 pupils dedicating their lunchtimes in preparation for their event!

Well done to everyone taking part – we’re so proud of you all!

Year 8 Progress Evening

Our Year 8 Progress Evening will take place on Thursday 8th May from 4:00pm to 6:30pm, providing a valuable opportunity for parents and carers to meet subject teachers and discuss their child’s progress.

Appointments will be held face-to-face in school, lasting five minutes each, and can be booked online from 8am on Monday 28th April until 12pm on Tuesday 6th May on a first come, first served basis via the booking system on our school website. It’s Thankful Thursday!

This week, Mr Inman met with our incredible Sports Leaders, (some of whom are about to set off on our ski trip!), who recently organised and ran a Boccia tournament for nine local primary schools. Staff from the visiting schools were full of praise for their respectful behaviour and outstanding leadership – they represented Chase Terrace Academy brilliantly. Well done!

Mrs Thombs also met with Millie, who came first in an acrobatics competition. Millie brought in her medal to show her class and shared a clip of her routine with Mrs Thombs, who was seriously impressed.

We’re so proud of the talent, dedication, and leadership shown by our pupils both inside and outside of school!

Easter Attendance Competition Winners!

The winners have been drawn from our Easter attendance competition!

All pupils with 98% attendance or above between Monday 10th March and Monday 7th April were entered into a prize draw within their Personal Development Group. One lucky winner from each group was drawn at random and received a delicious Easter Egg prize!

Well done to all pupils who qualified for the draw through their excellent attendance. Congratulations to our winners – we hope you enjoy your Easter treats.

Geography Reward Competition

Over the last term, Miss Devereux has been running a competition with her two Year 11 Geography classes to recognise independent learning and revision outside of the classroom.

From January to March, pupils submitted all sorts of revision work every two weeks – mind maps, notes, online quizzes, past papers marked using the official mark schemes- you name it! It was amazing to see the effort and hard work from so many.

A huge congratulations to Harry D, the overall winner, who consistently went above and beyond. Harry enjoyed a well-deserved pizza lunch with his friends! Many pupils also received Easter eggs as a ‘well done’ for their hard work.

We’re really proud of how committed everyone has been. All that effort will definitely pay off when results come around this summer!

Year 12 EPQ presentations

Over the past year, a group of our Year 12 pupils have undertaken the challenging Level 3 Extended Project Qualification (EPQ) – an additional academic course led by Mr Lloyd as part of our Sixth Form programme.

The EPQ offers pupils the opportunity to explore a topic of personal interest in depth, developing key skills in independent research, critical analysis, and academic writing. Each pupil works closely with a supervisor to produce a fully referenced dissertation, gaining valuable preparation for higher education and future careers.

We are incredibly proud of the hard work of our pupils and it has been great to see the thought and effort that’s gone into each project. Well done to all!

Youth choir visit local care home

As part of our school value of community, our youth choir had the wonderful opportunity to visit Hammerwich Hall Care Home and perform a selection of their rehearsed songs for the residents.

Our pupils thoroughly enjoyed sharing their music and spending time chatting with everyone, thank you to Hammerwich Hall Care Home for the kind invitation and warm welcome!
