Safer Roads Education Session!

We were thrilled to host Lisa Wright from the Staffordshire Safer Roads Partnership today at our school!

Lisa’s session with our Year 7 and 8 cohorts centred on the critical topic of distractions. Together, they delved into understanding cognitive, visual, and auditory distractions, highlighting the potential risks and consequences associated with them. Through engaging discussions, our pupils gained insights into how their actions can impact not only themselves but also others around them. They explored strategies to minimise distractions and stay mindful of their surroundings, particularly when on the road.

For our Year 10 group, the session took a closer look at peer influence – both positive and negative. Lisa provided valuable guidance on recognising situations where peer influence might sway decisions related to road safety. Our pupils learned the importance of challenging risky behaviours and advocating for their own safety, as well as that of their peers. Together, they brainstormed practical strategies to counteract negative peer influence and make informed choices.

We’re incredibly grateful to Lisa for her insightful presentations, empowering our pupils with the knowledge and skills to navigate road safety challenges effectively.

Celebrating staff achievement at CTA!

We are thrilled to celebrate a remarkable member of our CTA Team, Mrs. J Jones, who has recently achieved a significant milestone by successfully completing her Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship!

Since joining the CTA team in September 2022, Mrs. Jones has consistently exhibited dedication, passion, and a genuine commitment to enhancing the learning experience for our pupils.

Mrs. Jones shared her excitement, saying, “I am truly thrilled to have passed my Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship. It’s been a journey of growth and learning, and I am grateful for the support I’ve received from the CTA Team. I love being a part of this incredible community and contributing to the educational journey of our pupils.”

Y11 pupils perform for their peers

Our Year 11 pupils have truly shined on their last day of this half term! They celebrated by showcasing their incredible talents and performing for their peers, and we couldn’t be prouder of their dedication and hard work.

Feel Good Friday Celebration!

We’re thrilled to announce our latest Feel Good Friday celebrations, thanks to the incredible nominations from our supportive parents and dedicated staff! We’ve had an overwhelming response with a large number of deserving nominations. If your child hasn’t been celebrated this week, don’t worry, they’re on our radar and will be acknowledged upon return from the half-term break!

Let’s shine the spotlight on our outstanding achievers:

A special shoutout to Sophie and Ellie from Year 7, nominated by Mrs. Setterfield, their Year 6 teacher at Highfields Primary Academy! Sophie, portraying Ariel, and Ellie, playing Sebastian, are gearing up for an enchanting performance of ‘The Little Mermaid.’ They shared their excitement with Deputy Headteacher, Mr. J Cain.

Reece and Jack were nominated for demonstrating exceptional sportsmanship on the football field! They met with Deputy Headteacher, Mr. M Newman, to discuss how Reece (Burntwood Dragons) and Jack (Four Oak’s U15’s) showcased their talent in the Staffordshire County Cup Semi-Final, representing the top two U15 teams in the county.

James has been nominated for his outstanding artwork both in class and at home. His dedication to perfecting his craft earned him a celebration with Assistant Headteacher, Mrs. C Cain.

Samuel has been nominated by a staff member at Fulfen Primary School for volunteering his time to run an after-school Drama club for Year 5 and 6 pupils. Described as a true inspiration by Teaching Assistant, Miss Shuck, Samuel’s enthusiasm, and encouragement uplifts everyone around him.

We’re immensely proud of each and every one of these pupils for their outstanding contributions to our school community!

Year 11 pupils receive conditional offers for Sixth Form

This week marked an important milestone for our Year 11 pupils as they received their conditional offers of study for Sixth Form during an assembly led by Mr. R Giles, Head of Sixth Form. It was a great opportunity for them to get acquainted with our dedicated sixth form team and learn more about what life in Sixth Form at Chase Terrace Academy entails.

During the assembly, pupils were given valuable insights into the support system that awaits them over the next two years, both academically and personally. From academic preparation to life beyond school, we are committed to equipping our pupils with the skills and guidance they need to thrive.

For external candidates interested in joining our Sixth Form community, 1:1 interviews will be conducted in the first week back after half term. You will also receive your conditional offers of study shortly after.

Celebrating Creativity in Year 9 Art!

Our Year 9 Art classes have been showcasing their creativity and talent through their Animal Instincts project! Pupils have poured their hearts into creating stunning animal portraits, each uniquely contrasted with a celebrity of their choice.

Miss K Gough, teacher of Art, shares her thoughts on this enriching project: “Teaching the Animal Instincts project with this group has been an absolute joy. Their dedication and enthusiasm have truly shone through, resulting in fantastic artwork that reflects their passion and commitment.”

Celebrating National Apprenticeships Week!

In celebration of National Apprenticeships week, a group of our Year 8 pupils had an enlightening visit from Performance Through People, the largest training providers in the West Midlands with a legacy spanning since the 1970s.

They engaged in insightful discussions about apprenticeships, exploring various industries such as agriculture, animal care, business development, marketing, public relations, and construction, among others.

It’s crucial to empower our pupils with knowledge about the diverse opportunities available through apprenticeships. Thank you, Performance Through People, for inspiring our future workforce!
