Our Year 11 pupils have recently visited Stafford town centre as part of their fieldwork component of their GCSE Geography qualification. Their task was to explore two crucial themes: ‘Change over time’ and ‘Mitigating risk’.

Our pupils diligently conducted surveys at various locations within the town centre, capturing the dynamic flow of traffic and pedestrians at different times of the day. This hands-on approach provided valuable data for analysing patterns and trends in urban mobility.

Then, pupils analysed the regeneration efforts shaping Stafford’s landscape. Through surveys and questionnaires, they gauged the community’s perspective on the evolving face of their town.

Finally, pupils assessed crime prevention methods deployed across different sites. Their surveys shed light on the effectiveness of these measures in mitigating risks within the town center.

We’re incredibly proud of our pupils’ dedication and enthusiasm in applying classroom knowledge to real-world scenarios. These hands-on experiences not only enrich their understanding of geography but also cultivate invaluable skills in research, analysis, and critical thinking.
