Today, our Year 11 pupils sat their final examination for this half-term and marked the occasion by signing each other’s shirts as a memento of their time at Chase Terrace Academy.

We are incredibly proud of how this cohort has approached their exams with maturity, focus, and determination. Their conduct has been exemplary, and we’re excited to celebrate their journey at CTA during the upcoming Leavers’ Assembly on Tuesday 24th June.

It’s Feel Good Friday!

Today, we’re celebrating some incredible pupil achievements!

Khalen, Jessica, and Ellie (Year 12) met with Ms Mason, Headteacher, after being selected by the House of Commons for a work experience placement, following their impressive performances in the Lichfield Schools Speaking Competition. They’ll also enjoy a tour of Westminster and take part in a discussion on how laws are made – what an opportunity!

Cody (Year 7) was congratulated by Mr Newman, Deputy Headteacher, for winning first place in a recent tennis tournament at Cheslyn Hay Leisure Centre – well done, Cody!

Evan (Year 7) met with Mrs Cain, Assistant Headteacher, after being nominated by Chasetown Youth Football Club for Staffordshire FA Young Volunteer of the Year! Evan has volunteered for the past 18 months with the ‘Wildcats’ training sessions, and the Staffordshire FA even visited his club to present him with a special gift.

We’re so proud of the dedication, talent, and character shown by our pupils this week. Keep shining!

Year 13 Leavers Assembly

Today we held our Sixth Form Leaver’s Assembly, to celebrate our incredible Year 13 pupils and look back on their time with us in Sixth Form before preparing for their next steps.

Staff members nominated pupils for subject-specific awards, recognising exceptional effort and achievement. Additional awards were presented by our Senior Leadership Team, celebrating the many contributions and successes of this remarkable cohort.

Mr R. Giles, Head of Sixth Form, shared: “This group has been an absolute pleasure to have within the Sixth Form… It was wonderful to celebrate their achievements and successes. We wish every pupil all the best for their future and are so thankful they chose to start their journey at CTA.”

We are extremely proud of our Year 13 pupils and can’t wait to see what they achieve next. Congratulations to all our award recipients and to the whole cohort for their hard work.

Head of Year Rewards Celebration!

Today, we celebrated the achievements of our pupils in each year group with our Head of Year rewards event!

The top 40 pupils in each year group with a positive net worth of over 50 house points and attendance above 95% were invited to enjoy some well-deserved fun on inflatables – a fantastic way to end the term on a high note.

A huge well done to all our hardworking pupils – your dedication and effort have truly paid off!

District Cup Champions!

We are incredibly proud of our Year 10 football team, who were crowned District Cup Final winners after a brilliant 2-1 victory over Cardinal Griffin Catholic College.

An outstanding performance from every player – going undefeated all season and showing true determination, teamwork, and talent.

Sixth Form Committee 2025

Each year, our pupils vote to appoint a Sixth Form Committee to work alongside Mr Giles, Head of Sixth Form, in organising events, running charity fundraisers, and supporting the post-16 learning environment.

It’s Thankful Thursday!

This week, Miss Devereux met with some outstanding pupils who have achieved fantastic things outside the classroom.

Congratulations to Veronica in Year 7, who was nominated for her horse riding at Cannock Chase Trekking Centre! She spoke with Miss Devereux about her love for horses and how she has been riding since she was six years old.

We also celebrated a group of talented pupils involved with the Pauline Quirke Academy, where they created and screened their own short films in a cinema setting!

• William was nominated for ‘Regional Best Actor, Best Dancer’, and won a trophy for ‘Best Team Player’.
• Jacob was nominated for ‘Best Filmmaker’ and received the ‘Teacher’s Choice Award’ for his incredible progress over the past year.
• Pupils spoke about their creative work, including a modern retelling of Medusa’s myth set in a high school and their upcoming west-end performance, in which Leigha is so excited to play her role as an understudy.
• Ellie won a prize for her beautiful songbird singing, being praised as an inspiration for other pupils in the academy.
• Evie, Alana spoke about their brilliant behind-the-scenes work in set design and filming.

Changes to Year 7 Leadership

As we soon head into the final half term, we’re incredibly proud of our Year 7 pupils and how well they’ve settled into life at CTA – showing respect, hard work, and great community spirit throughout the year.

From Monday 2nd June, Mrs Lloyd will be taking over as Head of Year 7, supported by Mrs Pickin as Student Support Officer. Mrs Lloyd is excited to join the year group and continue their journey into Year 8, building on the fantastic foundation laid by Mrs Southwell and Ms Hobday.

We look forward to the continued support of our families as we help every pupil become the best version of themselves.
