We had the absolute pleasure of hosting Maddie Beebee as a guest speaker to focus on career paths into the world of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Maddie’s captivating talk was aimed at our KS4 and KS5 pupils who share a passion for STEM subjects. Maddie’s presentation was nothing short of motivational and inspirational. She guided our pupils through her academic journey, emphasising the power of tenacity and determination in reaching one’s goals. Maddie’s insights into her studies and the pivotal decisions she faces in her next steps left our pupils inspired and better equipped for their own journeys.
Maddie is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Chemistry at Durham University. Over the summer, she embarked on a four-week internship at Ernst and Young in London. Excitingly, Maddie has been offered a job at Ernst and Young, starting in September 2025.
We eagerly await Maddie’s return to CTA in the future to update our pupils on her next steps. Her story is a testament to the idea that not knowing your exact career path is okay. The key is to keep moving forward, seizing opportunities along the way. Maddie’s words of wisdom echo in our minds: “Life is what you make of it and you are the only person who can live your life to the fullest”.
Mrs. J Poppleton, our Director of Careers, was deeply impressed by Maddie. She said: “Maddie is an academically gifted individual with a natural ability to connect with our pupils. Her encouragement and motivation left a lasting impact. We’re fortunate to have a local 21-year-old role model like Maddie, guiding our pupils to reach for the stars in their future endeavours.”
We can’t wait for Maddie’s next visit to CTA. Her story reminds us all that with determination, hard work, and a willingness to take opportunities, there are no limits to what our pupils can achieve.
