We are thrilled to announce a special initiative led by one of our remarkable Year 11 leaders, Rachel R! She has organised a comprehensive First Aid session in collaboration with the community First Responders, who are trained and actively respond to 999 calls for the West Midlands Ambulance service. Notably, this dedicated team was honoured with the prestigious Queens Award for Voluntary Service in 2018.
This will take place on Friday, 9th February during lunchtime (13:20-14:00).
Pupils interested in participating are kindly requested to sign up with Miss H Pickerill to secure their spot for this invaluable training opportunity.
The session will cover essential topics such as:
• DR. ABC (Danger, Response, Airways, Breathing, Circulation)
• Broken bone/fracture support
• Heimlich manoeuvre
• 4️What to do in cases of hypo/hyperthermia
• How to stop bleeding in a stab wound while waiting for help
• CPR & Defibrillator usage
This is an incredible opportunity to gain practical skills and knowledge that can make a significant difference in emergency situations. We encourage everyone to attend and enhance their understanding of First Aid.
A big thank you to Rachel R for taking the initiative in organising this session and to the community first responders for their dedication to keeping us safe.
