This week, during Forest School sessions, our pupils learned about how to safely create a fire in order to boil water and cook food outside.
After a thorough safety instruction, pupils learned the essential skills of building a safe and controlled fire using materials like twigs, wood, and cotton wool. They discovered the importance of fire safety and how to responsibly manage flames in outdoor settings.
Pupils then had the opportunity to put their newfound knowledge into action by filling up the Kelly Kettles and boiling water over the open flames. As a result of their hard work they enjoyed a cup of hot chocolate, brewed over the fire they made.
Forest School provides invaluable opportunities for our pupils to connect with nature and develop practical skills. We’re incredibly proud of their efforts in mastering new skills!
