We’ve received an exciting update from our staff in Germany, and it’s safe to say our students are having a fantastic time!
Day one began with a scenic boat tour along the Rhine between the beautiful towns of Boppard and St Goar. Students enjoyed exploring the local area before travelling to Rüdesheim to visit Siegfried’s Mechanisches Musikkabinett, home to one of Europe’s largest collections of mechanical musical instruments. After more time discovering the town, the group headed back for dinner. With glorious weather throughout the day, students were even putting their German language skills into practice while ordering ice creams!
On day two, students climbed to the impressive Rheinfels Castle, where the stunning panoramic views made the journey worthwhile. The day continued with time exploring the picturesque town of Cochem before cooling off at the Cochem wave pool.
Students also had the opportunity to explore Koblenz before later returning to Boppard to travel by chairlift to Gedeons Corner. They enjoyed ice creams in the panorama cafe from where you have a breathtaking view onto the largest bend on the Rhine. Special mention must be made to Mr Johnson who conquered his fear of heights to take the ride by chairlift to a height of 240 metres. Finally, students gathered to watch the football! Another wonderful day enjoyed by all in glorious sunshine.
It has been wonderful to see our students embracing new experiences, practising their language skills and enjoying German culture. We hope they continue to have an amazing rest of their trip!
