We are thrilled to share that today a group of our exceptional Year 10 pupils had the incredible opportunity to meet with Mr. David Clift, the founder of the non-profit Good Turns Foundation. This enlightening session revolved around the power of values and how they can shape a purposeful and thriving future.
All the pupils who participated in this special session were nominated by their dedicated form tutors for being outstanding ambassadors of our school values: respect, community, tenacity, and aspiration. The heart of the discussion was Mr. Clift’s introduction of the ‘Jewel of a School’ scheme, an initiative that focuses on improving psychological and physical well-being by recognising and rewarding the positive contributions young people make to others, communities, and the environment.
During the session, pupils reflected on how our school values are already being implemented, citing examples such as the CATCH Hub, anti-bullying and LGBTQIA+ awareness campaigns, community kindness initiatives, Duke of Edinburgh expeditions, and Pupil Leadership, to name a few.
Miss H Pickerill, Pupil Leadership Coordinator, shared her thoughts on the importance of school values, saying, “Values are the compass that guide us in creating a positive and supportive learning environment. The conversation with Mr. Clift was truly interesting, and I am excited to see what the future holds for our pupils as they embrace these values in their initiatives.”
Let’s celebrate our incredible pupils and their commitment to making a positive impact on our school community!
