In this week’s Forest School session, our pupils embraced the Halloween spirit by working in pairs to design and carve their own spooky pumpkin faces! Not only was this a great way to practice creativity and teamwork, but it also helped develop their fine motor skills.
Pupils also explored the history of Halloween, learning about the use of turnips and swedes for carving before pumpkins became the tradition. As always, environmental responsibility was at the heart of our session – pumpkin seeds were saved for roasting and animal feed, while the rest will be used for pies and soups.
