Burntwood Town Council has agreed to make an annual bursary available
to talented young people wanting to go onto greater achievements in the
Arts, Sport or Academic fields. Two annual bursaries of up to £1,000
are available. To qualify for consideration for the bursary, individuals:
- PLEASE NOTE: Applications will not be accepted from anyone who is not a resident of Burntwood even if they attend a Burntwood school.
- Be aged between 11–14 or 15-19 years
- Be able to demonstrate an outstanding talent for their activity.
The scheme is intended to help fund additional opportunities to develop talent further and can be used for a variety of projects including purchasing specialist equipment or clothing, research projects, extra tuition or coaching, competition fees and travel.
Applications are sought from the following categories:
- 2D and 3D Traditional and Contemporary Performing Arts (e.g. Art, Photography, Music, Dance, Film and Theatre)
- Academic
- All Sports
Applications will be considered en bloc on one occasion each year and all documentation should be returned by the deadline. The level of achievement and/or potential in relation to your chosen academic subject, art form or sport will be considered by the Assessment Panel in assessing your application.
The 2019 Bursary Award scheme is now open and applications should be submitted by Friday 06 September 2019. Full details and the application form may be requested or collected from the Town Council’s office or downloaded from the Town Council’s website: www.burntwood-tc.gov.uk.
