As part of our Remembrance commemorations, Mrs C Cain, Assistant Headteacher, led assemblies on the importance of remembrance, gratitude, and respect for those who have served our country. To further show our appreciation, we launched a “Thank You” campaign inviting pupils and staff to complete a ‘Thank You’ poppy at lunchtime, now beautifully displayed outside our dinner hall. Poppies were also available in exchange for a small donation.
We are also proud of Daniel in Year 11, who represented our school by laying a wreath at the Burntwood Memorial this weekend. Additionally, all pupils in uniformed groups have been invited to wear their uniforms today, Monday, November 11th, to mark Remembrance Day.
Today, the entire school observed a two-minute silence, led by Mr Cain, Deputy Headteacher, who played ‘The Last Post’.
Mrs Benton’s Personal Development group also created a beautiful door display to pay their respects.
As a school, we remember those who sacrificed their tomorrow for our today, and those who continue to serve.
We will remember.
