It’s Feel Good Friday!

Today, Mr Inman, Assistant Headteacher, had the pleasure of meeting with Phoebe and Isabella, who recently competed in a taekwondo competition. Both pupils displayed incredible tenacity, each earning a silver medal in sparring – what an outstanding accomplishment!

At Chase Terrace Academy, we love celebrating achievements that reflect our school values of respect, community, tenacity, and aspiration – whether in school or beyond. If your child has excelled in sports, the arts, community service, or any other area, we want to hear about it!

As we receive a large number of nominations your child may not receive their recognition the same week they are nominated. However, their achievement will be celebrated and shared on our Facebook, Instagram pages and our website, please keep an eye out!

Burntwood Town Council’s Student Award 2025

Burntwood Town Council’s Student Award in memory of Stephen Sutton MBE is now open for applications!

First launched in 2015, this award honours Stephen’s life and achievements by supporting young people in Burntwood who have aspirations and talents they wish to develop.

This year, two pupils will each receive £1,000 to help them pursue their goals. Whether in sport, art, academia, music, or another field, the award can be used towards equipment, coaching, tuition, competition fees, or travel – providing a practical boost to help turn aspiration into achievement.

We know our pupils have big aspirations, and we encourage them to consider applying for this award. We are proud to celebrate the successes of past recipients, and we look forward to seeing the applications from our pupils this year.

Support for Year 11 success in English

As we begin the 2025-2026 academic year, our English Department has prepared a range of resources to help Year 11 pupils prepare for their trial exams and final GCSEs.

Here’s how pupils can make the most of the support available:

• English Intervention Sessions
  Starting Thursday 25th September, sessions will run every Thursday from 3:00 – 3:30pm. Please refer to the intervention timetable for details.
• Revision-Focused Homework
  Fortnightly tasks for both Language and Literature are designed to reinforce learning. They will comprise of quizzing and written tasks all to be completed on show my homework. Completing this work is essential for steady progress.
• Optional Weekly Revision Tasks
  Extra weekly activities are available via Show My Homework to help pupils strengthen their skills. We recommend pupils are revising every week in addition to homework.
• Resources on the English Website
  The English section of the school website is packed with resources to support pupils’ revision. Visit the website through the school’s main page for more details.

Sixth Form Alumni & future aspirations

Our Alumni Board in the Sixth Form Centre has been updated for 2025, following this summer’s fantastic results! This is especially timely as many of our former Year 13 pupils left for their university placements this weekend. We wish them every success in this exciting new chapter and encourage them to keep in touch.

Meanwhile, our 2026 cohort have been attending Russell Group preparation sessions since February, working hard towards competitive applications for some of the UK’s top universities and courses. Russell Club will continue to run every Wednesday, Week 1, from 3:00pm – 3:45pm in the Sixth Form Centre, supporting pupils with applications to Russell Group universities throughout this academic year.

Mr Giles, Head of Sixth Form, said: “We pledge at the start of applications that if pupils wish to do something aspirational, we will do everything to support them in achieving it. That remains our commitment to all pupils this academic year.”

The secret is out!

The CTA Theatre Company are excited to announce that their next production will be Into the Woods JR! Today, we revealed the magical journey that awaits – full of music, mystery, and unforgettable stories. We can’t wait to share the magic with you! Auditions will take place on Tuesday 23rd September at lunchtime in the Drama Studio, and we encourage everyone to come along and be part of this enchanting production! Pupils were given information regarding the audition and rehearsal process in a handout today and can see Ms Maymand or Mr Reinikovas for any further information.

LEGO Club – New for pupils!

We’re excited to launch a LEGO Club for pupils, running every Friday lunchtime in B21.

This is a fantastic opportunity for young people to:
– Develop creativity and problem-solving skills
– Work collaboratively with others
– Build confidence while having fun

Whether they want to design something imaginative, construct the tallest tower, or simply spend time with friends in a positive environment, all pupils are welcome.

While we already have some Lego available, we would love to expand our collection to support the club. If your child has any LEGO they no longer use, we would be very grateful if you could donate this. Thank you for your support.
