Food parcel Drop‑in sessions

A huge thank you to everyone who has generously contributed to our ‘Eggs for Easter’ campaign. Your support is truly appreciated and will make a real difference to families this Easter.

As part of our ongoing efforts to support our community, we will be hosting Food parcel Drop‑in sessions on Thursday 26th and Friday 27th March. There is no need to book, and parcels are completely free of charge – simply pop in at any time from 8:30am to 3:30pm.

These sessions will provide an opportunity for families to collect a food parcel, ensuring they have the essentials they need during the Easter break. We will also be distributing the Easter treats kindly donated through our Eggs for Easter campaign.

The ‘H82BL8’ Competition is back!

We’re so excited for the return of our ‘H82BL8’ (Hate to be late) challenge, starting Monday 13th April and running through to Friday 24th April.

This initiative is all about reducing late minutes and promoting punctuality across our school community.

Pupils will compete as a Personal Development group to achieve the least late minutes, with results averaged out per group. The winning forms in each year group will be chosen based on their lowest average late minutes.

Our school Houses (Brocket, Sika, Fallow, Elk) will also go head-to-head, with the ultimate prize up for grabs!

We look forward to running this competition upon our return to school!

It’s Feel Good Friday!

Today, we celebrated some fantastic achievements from our students.

Millie shone in her first gymnastics competition, winning Gold on floor, placing overall runner-up on beam and vault, and receiving the Judges’ Choice award for her beam routine.

Lexi R and Lexi M were both recognised for their success in a recent street dance competition. Lexi R placed 5th out of 39 in her solo, 4th in crew and earned a duo callback, while Lexi M placed 4th in crew and received a solo callback.

James and his local rugby team recently took part in a tournament, competing against 12 – 15 other teams. They finished as runners up and were awarded bonus points for supporting teams short of players. James was one of the players who stepped in, helping ensure everyone could take part on the day.

Mr Inman met with Leyton & Mason, who were celebrated for their weekly commitment to supporting an U10 football team. They consistently help run drills, motivate young players, and manage equipment – showing up every week, whatever the weather. Their dedication is truly making a difference.

Celebrating excellence in English!

Our students recently took part in the John Taylor MAT English Subject Excellence Competition – a media literacy project designed to help young people develop real-world content creation skills and explore future careers in broadcasting and journalism.

As part of the challenge, students produced written articles based on the theme “2026: Our Year Ahead.” They explored topics such as school improvements, predictions for the coming year, personal goals and aspirations, and changes within the local community. All entries were judged by BBC Radio Derby journalist Kayleigh Hall.

We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Heidi in Year 10 has been named the overall winner across the entire Trust – an incredible achievement among students from seven secondary schools. This is an extraordinary accomplishment and a true reflection of her talent, creativity, and hard work in English.

We couldn’t be prouder of you, Heidi. You are a fantastic representative of our school!

Eid Mubarak

We extend our warmest wishes to all our students, staff, families, and members of our wider community who are celebrating Eid al-Fitr.

Eid marks the end of Ramadan, a month of reflection, gratitude, and compassion. It is a special time for prayer, family gatherings, generosity, and community connection.

US Girls Taster Session

This week, we were pleased to host a US Girls Taster Session, giving students the opportunity to explore some of the activities available through local community sessions. Pupils enjoyed taking part in a range of arts, crafts, games and more.

For any students who were unable to attend, a second drop-in session will take place on 24th March, from 1:20 – 2:00pm in the Old Gym. This session is free of charge and open to all interested students.

Year 11 students receive conditional offers for CTA Sixth…

During a recent assembly, our Year 11 students who applied for our Sixth Form received their conditional offers. It was a great opportunity for them to get acquainted with our sixth form team and learn more about what life in Sixth Form at Chase Terrace Academy entails.

Mr Giles, Head of Sixth Form, shared: “It was a pleasure to meet the students who will be joining our Sixth Form this September. They are an impressive group of young people, and I am excited about the potential they will bring to our Sixth Form community. I wish them every success in their upcoming GCSE examinations and look forward to welcoming them into the next stage of their academic journey with us.”

We are also still welcoming internal and external candidates from the local area, and a small number of limited spaces remain across our courses. Mental Health Careers Workshop

This week, we were delighted to welcome the South Staffordshire Mental Health Support Team to our school for a careers workshop with students involved in our First Aid Club, as well as those who expressed an interest in mental health – related careers through their aspirations questionnaires.

Hannah and Lucy spoke with our students about the wide range of pathways into a career in mental health, including entry routes, key skills and qualities, and the valuable life experiences that can support future applications.

Students also explored the rewards, challenges and demands of working in the sector, as well as the exciting opportunity to become a Student Wellbeing Ambassador within school.

A huge thank you to the team for an engaging and insightful session that inspired many of our students to consider a future in mental health.

Huge congratulations are in order!

We are incredibly proud to share that Ashton, Year 10, competed this weekend in boxing and has been crowned the Junior Lightweight Staffordshire Champion!

This is an outstanding achievement, and we couldn’t be prouder of his hard work, dedication, and determination. Ashton even brought his championship belt into school today to show Mr Brotherton and Mrs Weaving, who were delighted to celebrate his success with him.

U13 Girls Football Victory! 

Last night, our U13 Girls Football team put on a fantastic performance against Lichfield Cathedral School, securing a well‑deserved 3–1 win despite the challenging weather conditions.

The team showed real determination, skill and teamwork from start to finish – and a special congratulations goes to Niah, who delivered an outstanding hattrick! 

A brilliant effort from every player. We are incredibly proud of you all!
