Civil and Structural Engineering careers visit

We were delighted to welcome Structural Engineer Joe Smith from Trillium Engineering Group, who spoke to our pupils about careers in Civil and Structural Engineering.

A big thank you to Lichfield District Council for recommending Trillium to us due to their work as a partner for social value projects. It was fantastic to see such a strong turnout, and we hope the session inspired some future engineers among our pupils!

Cannock Fire Station Visit

This week, a small group of our pupils had the fantastic opportunity to visit Cannock Fire Station for an engaging and educational morning.

The interactive visit covered a range of activities, including:

* Learning about the role of a firefighter and the variety of careers within the Fire Service

* A guided tour of the station

* A hands-on fitness workshop

Our pupils thoroughly enjoyed the experience and asked some brilliant questions about the world of work and public service careers.

A huge thank you to the team at Cannock Fire Station for their warm welcome and support – and of course, we couldn’t leave without a photo in front of the fire engines!

CTA heads to Buckingham Palace!

We’re incredibly proud to share that our DofE Licenced Centre has once again received special guest invitations to Buckingham Palace – a huge honour and a testament to the strength of our DofE programme.

This year, our brilliant volunteers Dylan Pickin and Chelsie Lee represented CTA at this prestigious event, celebrating the incredible achievements of this year’s Gold Award recipients.

Mrs Pickin would like to extend her heartfelt thanks to all our dedicated DofE volunteer leaders – without your tireless support, our pupils at CTA wouldn’t have access to such incredible opportunities.

Best of luck to our Year 9 pupils completing their assessment weekend – you’ve got this!

A big congratulations also goes to Mr Krause, who was also honoured for achieving his Gold DofE Award through his work with the Scouts!

Mental Health Awareness Week Celebrations

This week, we came together as a school community to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Week. Pupils were invited to the memorial garden to enjoy a treat and a drink, spending time with friends and staff in the sunshine.

We also took this opportunity to say a huge thank you for the outstanding conduct and respect our pupils showed during our recent Ofsted inspection.

A particular shout-out to our amazing Year 11s, who were treated to ice cream after completing their first whole-cohort GCSE examination – well done!

Better Together ‘Meet the Team’ Drop-in

A reminder that our ‘Meet the Team’ session is taking place tomorrow, Thursday 15th May, from 2:00pm to 3:30pm.

Based on your feedback, we’ve moved the session to the afternoon, and we hope this gives more of you the chance to attend. This informal gathering is a fantastic opportunity to connect with our staff, share your thoughts, and discuss the topics that matter most to you – all whilst enjoying a coffee and a piece of cake!

The session takes place during Mental Health Awareness Week, and with this year’s theme of ‘community’ aligning with our school values, it’s the perfect opportunity to welcome our parent community into school – because together, we can continue working towards the shared goal of supporting your child’s wellbeing and success.

Our Attendance Team will also be on hand to answer any questions and offer practical support to help your child attend school regularly and thrive.

Year 8 Pen-pals!

Our Year 8 French pupils were so excited to receive letters from their new pen pals at Notre-Dame de Bellegarde in France! Ms Horton’s classes have really enjoyed writing back and getting to know pupils from another country. It’s a great way to practise their language skills and build international friendships.

Good Luck to all Year 6 pupils starting their…

We would like to wish all Year 6 pupils who have begun their SAT exams this week the very best of luck from everyone at Chase Terrace Academy!

As a special gesture of support, our pupils recently took part in a House competition to design Good Luck cards for local primary schools. Today, we proudly delivered those cards to wish you well in person! We know how hard you’ve worked in the lead-up to this moment, and we hope you feel proud of everything you’ve achieved. All anyone asks is that you give it your best effort – whatever happens, you should be incredibly proud.

In remembrance of VE Day

Today marks the 80th Anniversary of VE Day – Victory in Europe Day. We remember and honour the courage, sacrifice, and resilience of all those who served and lived through World War II. As a school community, we will reflect on the importance of peace, unity, and the lessons of history that continue to shape our world today through a two-minute silence at 12pm.
