KS3 Interhouse Competition Results

At the end of last term, our KS3 pupils took part in an Interhouse competition in their PE lessons. Brocket, Elk, Fallow, and Sika went head-to-head in a variety of sports, including basketball, netball, rugby, dodgeball, table tennis, and more!

We’re so proud of the effort and spirit shown by every pupil who participated. A huge congratulations to everyone involved!

Year 10 BTEC Enterprise pupils interview entrepreneurs

Recently, we were delighted to welcome The Boss Partnership, Able Electrical, and Southall Harries to CTA. Our Year 10 BTEC Enterprise pupils had the invaluable opportunity to interview these business professionals.

As part of their studies, pupils will analyse the businesses, exploring the skills and characteristics of the entrepreneurs that have driven their success.

We are incredibly proud of our pupils for their exemplary behaviour and insightful questions throughout the sessions. Thank you to our visitors for sharing their expertise and inspiring the next generation of entrepreneurs and a huge thank you to all the businesses who generously offered their time and expertise to support our learners this year – your involvement is truly appreciated!

Personal Development Survey

At Chase Terrace Academy, our core values— Respect, Community, Tenacity, and Aspiration—guide everything we do. We are proud to be working towards the Excellence in Pupil Development Award, enhancing our Personal Development provision to support our pupils in becoming responsible citizens.

This journey has included enhancing our Personal Development programme. Each morning, from 8:30am to 9:00, pupils engage in lessons covering PSHE topics such as equality, British Values, and historical commemorations like D-Day and Black History Month. Recent highlights include discussions on the Equality Act’s protected characteristics and a successful drop-down day with tailored workshops.

To continue improving, we value feedback from our community. All parents/carers have been emailed a short survey. Please note, this has been sent via an external company to the email address you have registered on the MyChildAtSchool app with. Your participation will make a significant difference in our efforts to provide the best possible environment for your child’s growth and development. Exciting News from CTA Theatre Company!

Recently, our pupils took part in a workshop led by Box House Theatre, exploring the page-to-stage process of bringing Mark Wheeller’s Pandemexplosion to life!

The pupils explored the creative journey from script to performance, learning how to transform the words of the play into stage action. This is all in preparation for the highly anticipated Pandemexplosion premiere this July, performed by our very own CTA Theatre Company!

We can’t wait to share this thrilling new production with you all! Stay tuned for more updates on the journey to the stage!

A reminder that applications are now open for our Pupil Leadership Team – a wonderful opportunity for pupils to take on a leadership role and contribute to the future of our school.

Our current team works within committees such as Facilities, Community and Charity, and Teaching and Learning, making meaningful changes that benefit everyone. We’re now looking to expand, with exciting new committees like Transition, Peer Mentoring & Wellbeing, House, and Diversity & Inclusion.

This is a fantastic chance for your child to:

– Develop leadership and teamwork skills

– Make a positive impact on their school community

– Build confidence and experience for the future

Inspiring the next generation of journalists

Today, our Year 11 Media pupils had the fantastic opportunity to hear from CTA alumni Benedict Ferraby!

Benedict is a Multimedia Journalism graduate, currently pursuing an MA in Sports Journalism at Coventry University. His impressive portfolio includes work as a Freelance Writer for Football League World and covering matches for Hull City.

Benedict shared his journey, insights into the media industry, and even showcased his personal blogs, which can be explored in his Wakelet portfolio.

A huge thank you to Benedict for returning to inspire our pupils – we’re so proud of his achievements and grateful for his time!

Year 10 and 11 Drama workshop with Box House…

This week, our Year 10 and 11 pupils had the privilege of participating in an exciting workshop with Box House Theatre, exploring the world of Platform Theatre!

Through this session, pupils honed their skills in physicality, improvisation, and storytelling. We’re looking forward to seeing how these newfound skills shine through in their upcoming drama pieces.

A reminder to our Year 11 families that the Year 11 Progress Evening is taking place tonight, Thursday 16th January, 4:00pm-6:30pm.

This is a fantastic opportunity to meet your child’s subject teachers and discuss their current progress. All appointments will take place via video call using our usual online appointment booking system. You will receive an email confirmation with a link to join the video call.
