We have so much to celebrate this week! Mr Cain met with our fantastic Year 7 netball teams to recognise their achievements last season. We are incredibly proud to have not one, but two Year 7 netball teams, a testament to the commitment of our students who give up their time to train and compete.
Mr Newman celebrated Josh, who showed great resilience after breaking his wrist in January. Despite 10 weeks out through injury, he continued to support his team and has now returned to play, even stepping into an unfamiliar position when needed. His commitment and determination have been highly praised.
We are also celebrating Violet, also a member of the Year 7 netball team, who performed at Lichfield’s Gotta Dance at the Garrick Theatre as part of an acro-gymnastics routine, demonstrating outstanding dedication and teamwork in a short rehearsal window.
Congratulations also go to Nancy on her selection for the Staffordshire County Golf team – her regular training and hard work are clearly paying off, and we look forward to seeing her future success.
We’d also like to celebrate an exceptional student who recently achieved her 3000m swimming badge after completing an incredible 180 lengths in the pool. What an inspiring example of perseverance and hard work paying off!
Finally, Miss Gleeson met with Dougie and Molly, who recently represented our school by taking part in a ‘school tour’ video which will be shared with students and families joining our school community this September. We are extremely proud of the way that they got involved and grateful for the positive way they represented our school. We’re looking forward to sharing the finished video very soon!
A wonderful week of achievements – well done to everyone involved!

In recognition of Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month and World Autism Acceptance Month, which takes place in April, Mr Inman has led assemblies this week focused on differability and the barriers individuals may face.
Students explored the important message that not all disabilities are visible, with a particular focus on hidden disabilities and autism. In line with our school values of community and respect, the assemblies reinforced that everyone is different, and everyone has a valued place within our school community. They also highlighted that we never truly know what someone else is going through, underlining the importance of being kind, always.
Mr Inman challenged common myths surrounding disability and autism, encouraging greater understanding and acceptance within our school community. To conclude the assembly, he shared two poems written by his daughter, Evie‑Grace. It is a privilege to share both poems below.
