Today, Ms Mason, Headteacher, was delighted to celebrate a range of exceptional achievements.
Logan and Erin were recognised for their recent swimming successes – Logan for an impressive performance at the East Midlands Championships, where he earned seven medals, and Erin for winning a silver regional medal while continuing to train five days a week.
Congratulations were also extended to Bruce (Year 12) on achieving his II Dan Black Belt. This is a rare accomplishment, with estimates suggesting only 1-2 in every 10,000 martial artists reach this level. While around 3 – 5% may earn their 1st Dan, only a small fraction progress to II Dan, which requires a further 2 – 3 years of intensive training.
We’re also so proud to celebrate Miss Devereux, who recently fulfilled a childhood dream by competing at the Badminton Horse Trials. She took part in the LeMieux Grassroots Championship with her horse, Casanova Spark, a milestone moment at one of the most prestigious events in equestrian sport.
Well done to everyone involved – we are incredibly proud of you all!

Our transition team, Mrs Scholes and Miss Grave, are very much looking forward to visiting primary schools soon and welcoming students and families for our Transition Day in July. We can’t wait to begin this next stage of their journey with us!

Over the break, students were invited to take part in the ‘Reading in Unusual Places’ challenge by sharing a photo of themselves enjoying a book in an interesting or unexpected location. The challenge proved to be a fantastic way to promote creativity, encourage positive reading habits, and show that reading can be enjoyed anywhere.
Today, our winners Emma and Alfie were awarded £10 gift vouchers for their brilliant submissions. Emma enjoyed her reading while on a trip to Yorkshire, while Alfie impressively kept reading even when buried alive in the sand!
We were also delighted to receive a staff entry from Mrs Lewis, who shared her reading moment while visiting Pompeii!
Thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the challenge such a success.

Our Year 11 Performing Arts students recently showcased their exam performances, all inspired by the theme Common Ground.
Tasked with creating original work for a new community centre, students explored how people from all walks of life can come together to learn, create and celebrate. One group examined the enduring power of trees, imagining them as silent witnesses to our shared stories and histories, while the other used the warmth of a campfire to symbolise storytelling, connection and unity.
These performances have been beautifully enhanced by our talented Year 9 Art students, who took on the role of set designers and created key pieces, including a tree and campfire.

With GCSE and A Level written examinations beginning next week, we recognise that some of our Year 11 and Year 13 students may be feeling increased levels of stress.
Please see below a parent/carer guide below outlining ways you can support your child during the exam period. Our safeguarding page has also been updated with exam support guidance for both parents/carers and students, which can be accessed here: https://tinyurl.com/yfhc5nrs
Please be assured that staff are always available to support students at this time. We wish all of our exam students the very best of luck.
