We have had a fantastic start to the spring term! Deputy Headteacher, Mr M Newman, and Assistant Headteacher, Mr D Inman led an assembly focusing on reinforcing our school values and setting expectations for a successful term ahead. Year 11 observed this assembly today, with all year groups scheduled to participate by week’s end.
The heart of the assembly revolved around the core values that make our school community exceptional. Respect takes center stage, with Mr M Newman citing examples such as refraining from discriminatory or foul language, showing respect to both staff members and peers, and adhering to our uniform policy.
We firmly believe that our school is a community where positive change begins. A quote was shared: “There is no power of change greater than a community discovering what it cares about.” Together, we emphasised the essence of community and the collective responsibility we share in fostering a positive and inclusive environment.
Mr. M Newman said, “The curriculum at Chase Terrace Academy is designed to support all pupils in developing diverse aspects of life.” We invite our pupils to enrich their educational experience by actively embracing our school values. Using these values in conversations with peers and staff members creates an environment that fosters personal growth and community spirit.
Furthermore, the assembly highlighted our commitment to Personal Development sessions. These sessions aim to encourage each child to become personally, emotionally, socially, and physically effective—leading healthy, safe, and fulfilled lives. Our ultimate goal is for our pupils to evolve into responsible, independent, and considerate citizens.
Pupils can look forward to five 30-minute Personal Development sessions per week, covering various topics within PSHE. These sessions will delve into our CTA values and the five British values that underpin the personal development of our pupils: democracy, rule of law, respect, tolerance, and individual liberty.
As we navigate through the spring term, we encourage our pupils to reflect on their ambitions and utilise Chase Terrace Academy as a platform for their success. Let’s make the most out of these personal development sessions, for they provide a unique opportunity to grow and develop as individuals.
